Measure the Holes First: Best Bathroom Faucets for 1-Hole, 4-Inch and 8-Inch Sinks

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn’t change our recommendations or the price you pay.

The best bathroom faucet for your vanity is decided under the sink before it’s decided by looks. Count the holes in your sink or countertop and measure the distance between the outer two: one hole takes a single-hole faucet, three holes 4 inches apart take a centerset, and three holes spread wider (usually 8 inches) take a widespread faucet.

We compared seven faucets across those three layouts: two Moen models, a Pfister centerset, a Delta widespread, two Kohler faucets with 1.2 gpm flow rates, and a budget Hurran centerset sold by the brand’s own store. Six are sold by Amazon.com. For each, we note whether the listing includes a drain, what it says about the valve or cartridge, its flow rate and WaterSense status where stated, and the warranty field.

Replacing a faucet is also the best time to check the supply lines and shutoff valves underneath, so we cover that too.

1. Moen Karis Single-Hole Faucet (84346SRN): Best Overall Single-Hole

Moen Karis Single-Hole Faucet (84346SRN)

Moen’s Karis is a single-handle faucet that mounts through one hole, with an optional deck plate to cover a three-hole sink. That flexibility is the reason to start here: it suits a modern vanity drilled for one hole, and it can also replace an old two-handle centerset without leaving empty holes showing.

Daily use is simple. One lever adjusts temperature and flow, and Moen describes the stream as aerated flow for brushing teeth and washing hands. The finish is Moen’s Spot Resist brushed nickel, which the listing says resists fingerprints and water spots, so it should look cleaner between wipe-downs than plain polished metal.

Moen says every residential kitchen and bath faucet it makes complies with the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and NSF 61 standards, and that the Karis was tested beyond industry standards to handle real-world wear and tear. The warranty field reads “Limited Lifetime Warranty,” and the listed weight is 4.24 pounds. The listing doesn’t mention a drain assembly or give a flow rate, so plan to keep your current drain or buy one separately.

It suits homeowners who want a clean, single-lever look and a well-known brand without paying premium prices, especially if they might switch between one-hole and three-hole sinks.

Why we like it

  • Fits one-hole or three-hole sinks
  • Spot Resist finish
  • Limited lifetime warranty field

Watch out for

The listing doesn’t say a drain is included or state a flow rate, so check both on Moen’s spec sheet before you order.

Model84346SRN; made by Moen Incorporated
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#11,929 overall; #33 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Flexibility earns the Karis the top spot: “Single hole mount creates a cleaner look against custom countertops, with optional deck plate for 3-hole setups.” No other listing here offers that one-or-three option.

Moen’s finish and safety claims are specific. The “Spot Resist brushed nickel finish resists fingerprints and water spots,” and Moen says every residential faucet “complies with the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and NSF 61 standards.” The Pfister Willa makes a similar lead-content claim; the Kohler and Delta Arvo listings don’t name NSF 61.

Amazon.com sells it, and the warranty field reads “Limited Lifetime Warranty.” It ranks #33 in Touch On Faucets and #11,929 overall, mid-pack here. The 4.24-pound weight is plausible, but the 20.75 x 9.44 x 3-inch size looks like the box. There’s no drain mention and no flow rate, unlike the Idora’s included drain or the Kohler Elate’s 1.2 gpm.

Modern single-hole vanities, and three-hole sinks you want to update to one lever, are its natural home. Buyers who need a WaterSense label for a rebate should look at the Kohler Elate.

Pros

  • Optional deck plate for 3-hole setups
  • Spot Resist brushed nickel finish
  • NSF 61 and Safe Drinking Water Act compliance, per Moen
  • Warranty field: “Limited Lifetime Warranty”
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • Drain assembly not mentioned on the listing
  • Flow rate not stated
  • Listed 20.75 x 9.44 x 3 in looks like box size
  • #33 in Amazon’s Touch On Faucets category, #11,929 overall

Best for: Someone updating a single-hole or 4-inch three-hole vanity who wants a one-lever faucet from a major brand at a mid-range price.

2. Moen Idora Two-Handle Centerset (84115): Best Chrome Centerset (ADA Compliant)

Moen Idora Two-Handle Centerset (84115)

Moen’s Idora is a 4-inch centerset faucet: two handles and a spout on one base that covers a standard three-hole bathroom sink. The title includes a drain assembly, so a complete swap at the sink doesn’t require a separate purchase.

Moen gives it a high arc spout for clearance at the sink, which leaves room to rinse a washcloth or fill a cup. The finish is polished chrome, described as highly reflective with a mirror-like look that works with any decorating style. The faucet also coordinates with other accessories in Moen’s Idora collection if you want the rest of the room to match.

The listing says the Idora complies with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifications, and, like the Karis, it falls under Moen’s statement that every residential faucet complies with the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and NSF 61 standards. The 4-inch centerset design allows for easy installation, according to Moen, and the warranty field reads “Limited Lifetime Warranty.” It’s light, at a listed 2.89 pounds.

It suits budget remodels, rentals and guest baths, plus anyone shopping for a parent or older relative who wants a faucet that meets ADA specifications. Chrome is the classic choice when you want the faucet to match older fixtures in the room.

Why we like it

  • Drain included
  • ADA compliant
  • Matching Idora accessories

Watch out for

Polished chrome shows water spots more readily than spot-resistant finishes, and the listing gives no flow rate.

SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#6,000 overall; #7 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Popularity and price make the Idora’s case: at #6,000 overall and #7 in Touch On Faucets, it outsells every other name-brand pick here, and it sits in the lowest price tier alongside the Pfister and Hurran. Amazon.com is the seller.

The title includes a “Drain Assembly,” and the listing says it “Complies with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifications,” the only ADA statement on this page. The “high arc spout” provides “ample clearance for easy sink access,” and the warranty field reads “Limited Lifetime Warranty.”

Gaps are minor but real. No flow rate is listed, the cartridge isn’t described, and polished chrome lacks the spot-resist treatment on the Karis or Delta Arvo. At a listed 2.89 pounds and 4.8 x 6.25 x 6.9 inches, it’s the lightest stated weight here.

Landlords, budget remodelers and families with older relatives should shortlist it. Anyone with an 8-inch widespread vanity needs the Delta Arvo or Kohler Devonshire instead.

Pros

  • Best rank among the name brands: #6,000 overall
  • Drain assembly included, per title
  • ADA compliant, per listing
  • High arc spout
  • Warranty field: “Limited Lifetime Warranty”

Cons

  • Flow rate not stated
  • Polished chrome shows water spots more than a spot-resist finish
  • Cartridge type not described
  • Two handles to adjust temperature

Best for: A homeowner or landlord replacing a 4-inch centerset who wants a chrome Moen with a drain and ADA compliance at a low price.

3. Pfister Willa 4-Inch Centerset (LF048MALCC): Best Easy-Install Centerset

Pfister Willa 4-Inch Centerset (LF048MALCC)

Pfister’s Willa is a 4-inch centerset faucet with two handles and transitional styling, here in polished chrome. Pfister pitches it squarely at do-it-yourselfers: several of its features exist to shorten the install.

TiteSeal mounting technology eliminates the need for putty or silicone, according to the listing, and Pfast Connect is meant to speed up and secure the connections to your supply lines. A Quick Install Tool comes in the box. The included Push & Seal drain works by pressing once to seal and again to open, and Pfister says it installs in half the time of standard pop-up drains.

The bullets say the faucet is NSF certified to conform with lead content requirements for lead-free plumbing as defined by California, Vermont, Maryland and Louisiana state laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act. Pfister also says the valve and cartridge components are included, and that a limited lifetime warranty covers finish and function for as long as you own your home. The warranty field itself is empty, and the listed size of 1 by 1 by 1 inch is clearly a placeholder.

It suits homeowners tackling their first faucet swap, and anyone who would rather skip plumber’s putty. Two handles give separate hot and cold control, which some people find easier to fine-tune than a single lever.

Why we like it

  • No putty needed
  • Push & Seal drain
  • Install tool in the box

Watch out for

The dimensions field is a placeholder and no flow rate is given, so confirm spout reach on Pfister’s spec sheet if your sink is shallow.

SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#12,518 overall; #35 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Installation help is what the Willa offers that others don’t spell out: “TiteSeal mounting technology eliminates the need for putty or silicone,” “Pfast Connect reduces setup time,” and a “Quick Install Tool” is included.

Pfister’s Push & Seal drain lets you “press once to seal and press again to open,” and it installs “in half the time of standard pop-up drains,” per the listing. It is “NSF certified” to conform with lead content requirements under California, Vermont, Maryland and Louisiana laws and the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act.

The data has holes. The warranty field is empty, though the bullets describe a “Limited lifetime warranty” covering “finish and function for as long as you own your home.” The listed 1 x 1 x 1-inch size is a placeholder, and no flow rate is given. Amazon.com sells it; it ranks #35 in Touch On Faucets and #12,518 overall, close to the Karis, and weighs a listed 3.21 pounds.

First-time DIYers with a 4-inch centerset sink are the ideal buyers. If you want supply lines in the box too, the Hurran kit includes them.

Pros

  • Push & Seal drain included
  • TiteSeal mounting: no putty or silicone needed, per listing
  • Quick Install Tool included
  • Listing: NSF certified for lead content requirements
  • Limited lifetime warranty covers finish and function, per bullets

Cons

  • Warranty field empty (warranty is in the bullets)
  • Listed size of 1 x 1 x 1 in is a placeholder
  • Flow rate not stated
  • #35 in Amazon’s Touch On Faucets category, #12,518 overall

Best for: A first-time DIYer replacing a 4-inch centerset who wants the drain, mounting and supply connections designed for a quick install.

4. Delta Arvo 8-Inch Widespread (35840LF-SP): Best Widespread

Delta Arvo 8-Inch Widespread (35840LF-SP)

Delta’s Arvo widespread is a three-piece faucet: a spout and two separate handles that mount in three holes spread apart, usually 8 inches. Delta says it fits three-hole widespread installations from 4 to 16 inches, which gives you some leeway if your vanity isn’t drilled at exactly 8 inches.

Installation is built around a wrench-free, quick-connect hose that audibly clicks when the water lines are connected properly, which Delta says helps prevent leaks. The valve cartridge is tested to last at least 500,000 uses, according to the listing, for fewer drips and smooth handle operation.

The SpotShield brushed nickel finish is described as engineered for durability and tested for corrosion resistance to at least two times industry standards, and Delta says its bathroom faucet finishes are third-party certified and tested against cracking, peeling, chipping, blistering and color change. The included push pop-up drain unscrews from above the deck, so you can pull out hair and debris without reaching under the sink. The warranty field reads “Lifetime Faucet and Finish Lifetime Limited Warranty.”

It suits a primary bathroom or a remodel where the vanity is drilled for a widespread faucet, and a buyer who wants a finish that hides spots and a drain that’s easy to clean.

Why we like it

  • Flexible 4–16 inch spread
  • Click-to-confirm quick connect
  • Drain cleans from above

Watch out for

The listing doesn’t give a flow rate, so check Delta’s spec sheet if a WaterSense label matters for a rebate.

Key Specifications

TypeWidespread, two handles
Mount3-hole widespread, 4–16 in (per listing)
ValveCartridge tested to at least 500,000 uses (per Delta)
DrainPush pop-up, removable from above

Size7 x 11.63 x 6.31 in

WarrantyLifetime Faucet and Finish Lifetime Limited Warranty
Model35840LF-SP; made by Delta Faucet Company
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#7,115 overall; #16 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Fit range is the Arvo’s edge among widespread faucets: Delta says it “fits 3-hole 4-16 in widespread installations,” while the Kohler Devonshire listing just says 3-hole widespread.

Delta backs durability with numbers: the “Valve cartridge is tested to last at least 500,000 uses,” and SpotShield finishes are “tested for corrosion resistance to at least 2 times industry standards.” Installation uses a “Wrench-free, quick-connect hose” that “audibly clicks when water lines are connected properly.” The push pop-up drain “unscrews from above the deck.”

Amazon.com sells it, the warranty field reads “Lifetime Faucet and Finish Lifetime Limited Warranty,” and it ranks #16 in Touch On Faucets and #7,115 overall, second among the name brands. Listed at 3.81 pounds and 7 x 11.63 x 6.31 inches. No flow rate or NSF 61 statement appears on this listing, where Moen and Pfister make lead-free or NSF claims.

Widespread vanities in a primary or family bath suit it well. Shoppers who need a stated 1.2 gpm or WaterSense label should compare the Kohler picks.

Pros

  • Fits 3-hole 4–16 in widespread installs, per listing
  • Valve cartridge tested to 500,000 uses, per Delta
  • Quick-connect hose clicks when connected
  • Push pop-up drain unscrews from above
  • Warranty field: “Lifetime Faucet and Finish Lifetime Limited Warranty”

Cons

  • Flow rate not stated
  • Listing doesn’t name NSF 61
  • Higher price tier than the centersets
  • #16 in Amazon’s Touch On Faucets category, #7,115 overall

Best for: A homeowner with a three-hole widespread vanity who wants a brushed nickel Delta with a quick-connect install and an easy-to-clean drain.

5. Kohler Elate Single-Handle Faucet (35048-4-BN): Best WaterSense Single-Handle

Kohler Elate Single-Handle Faucet (35048-4-BN)

Kohler’s Elate single-handle faucet is part of the Elate collection, which Kohler describes as pure geometric style with clean lines. One lever controls both temperature and flow, and the listing’s color field gives the finish as Vibrant Brushed Nickel.

Water use is the headline. The listing says the WaterSense label means at least 45% less water than 2.2 gpm faucets, and it gives a 1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) maximum flow rate at 60 psi. Kohler describes the stream as a steady, comfortable flow for everyday tasks.

Inside, a KOHLER ceramic disc valve is said to exceed industry longevity standards for smooth, reliable performance. The listing doesn’t state the hole count or whether a drain is included, and the warranty field is empty, so check Kohler’s spec sheet for the mounting layout and what comes in the box. The listed weight is 4.13 pounds.

It suits homeowners who want lower water use without giving up a modern look, and anyone whose water utility offers rebates for WaterSense fixtures. If you’re also replacing other fixtures in the room, the Elate collection lets you match the style. Keep in mind that a 1.2 gpm stream fills a basin more slowly than an older 2.2 gpm faucet, a trade-off worth knowing before you commit to a low-flow model.

Why we like it

  • Stated WaterSense label
  • 1.2 gpm flow
  • Ceramic disc valve

Watch out for

Confirm the hole layout and whether a drain is included before you order, since the listing doesn’t say.

Key Specifications

TypeSingle-handle bathroom faucet
Flow rate1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) max at 60 psi

ValveKOHLER ceramic disc
Listed weight4.13 lb

WarrantyNot stated in listing
Model35048-4-BN; made by Kohler Plumbing
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#48,135 overall; #175 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Water savings is the Elate’s standout claim: “the WaterSense label means at least 45% less water than 2.2 gpm faucets,” with “a 1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) maximum flow rate at 60 psi.” No other pick states a WaterSense label.

Kohler says “the KOHLER ceramic disc valve exceeds industry longevity standards,” and the single lever makes adjusting “water temperature and flow intuitive.” The color field reads Vibrant Brushed Nickel. Like the Karis, it’s a one-lever design, but its listing doesn’t mention a deck plate.

Several details are missing: the hole count, any drain, and the warranty field, which is empty. Amazon.com sells it, at a listed 4.13 pounds, and it ranks #175 in Touch On Faucets and #48,135 overall, second-weakest here.

Water-conscious buyers and anyone chasing a utility rebate should consider it first. Shoppers who want everything confirmed on the listing, including a drain, may prefer the Delta Arvo or Moen Idora.

Pros

  • Only pick whose listing states a WaterSense label
  • 1.2 gpm max at 60 psi, per listing
  • KOHLER ceramic disc valve
  • Vibrant Brushed Nickel finish (color field)
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • Hole count not stated on the listing
  • Drain not mentioned
  • Warranty field empty: not stated
  • Second-weakest rank here: #48,135 overall

Best for: Someone who wants a modern single-lever faucet with a stated WaterSense label and a lower flow rate.

6. Kohler Devonshire Widespread (K-394-4-BN): Best Luxury Widespread

Kohler Devonshire Widespread (K-394-4-BN)

Kohler’s Devonshire widespread is a traditional three-hole faucet with two lever handles for separate hot and cold control, in Vibrant Brushed Nickel. It suits a primary bath where the vanity is drilled for widespread mounting.

The listing gives specifics that many others leave out. The spout reaches 5-7/8 inches (149 mm), which puts the stream farther into the basin, and the maximum flow rate is 1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) at 60 psi. A metal pop-up drain with a 1-1/4-inch tailpiece is included, and Kohler says its ceramic disc valves exceed industry longevity standards for a lifetime of durable performance.

The warranty field reads “KOHLER Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty.” At a listed 5 pounds, it’s a solid piece of hardware, and the listed package size is 14.5 by 5.75 by 5.5 inches. Although 1.2 gpm is below the WaterSense maximum, the listing doesn’t say this model carries the WaterSense label, so check Kohler’s product page if you need it for a rebate.

It suits a primary bath remodel with traditional cabinetry, where a long reach and a metal drain justify a premium price. Two separate handles take a moment longer to balance than a single lever, and a widespread faucet has three pieces to mount, so budget extra time, or a plumber, for the install.

Why we like it

  • Long 5-7/8″ reach
  • Metal pop-up drain
  • 1.2 gpm flow

Watch out for

It costs far more than the other picks, and the listing doesn’t confirm a WaterSense label despite its 1.2 gpm flow.

Key Specifications

TypeWidespread, two lever handles
Mount3-hole widespread
Flow rate1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) max at 60 psi

Listed weight5 pounds
WarrantyKOHLER Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty
Model394-4-BN
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#61,345 overall; #217 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Premium hardware details fill the Devonshire listing: “5-7/8″ (149 mm) spout reach,” “1.2 gpm (4.5 lpm) maximum flow rate at 60 psi,” and a “metal pop-up drain with 1-1/4″ (32 mm) tailpiece.” No other pick states a reach longer than the Hurran’s 4.8 inches.

Two lever handles “offer separate control of hot and cold water,” and “KOHLER ceramic disc valves” are said to exceed industry longevity standards. The warranty field reads “KOHLER Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty.” It is the heaviest pick at a listed 5 pounds.

Price and popularity are the drawbacks. It is the most expensive faucet here and the weakest seller, at #217 in Touch On Faucets and #61,345 overall. Its 1.2 gpm flow is under the 1.5 gpm WaterSense maximum, but the listing doesn’t claim the label, unlike the Kohler Elate. Amazon.com sells it.

Traditional primary-bath remodels, where reach and a metal drain matter, are where it fits. Budget-minded widespread buyers will get a lifetime-style warranty field from the Delta Arvo for less.

Pros

  • 1.2 gpm max at 60 psi, per listing
  • Metal pop-up drain with 1-1/4″ tailpiece
  • 5-7/8″ spout reach, the only stated reach over 5 in here
  • Warranty field: “KOHLER Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty”
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • Most expensive pick by far
  • Weakest rank here: #61,345 overall
  • Listing doesn’t mention a WaterSense label
  • Heaviest pick at a listed 5 lb

Best for: A homeowner remodeling a traditional primary bath who wants a widespread Kohler with a metal drain and long reach.

7. Hurran 4-Inch Centerset, Brushed Nickel: Best Budget Kit with Supply Lines

Hurran 4-Inch Centerset, Brushed Nickel

Hurran’s 4-inch centerset is a two-handle faucet sold as a complete kit. The box includes two 24-inch hot and cold supply lines and a matching-finish pop-up drain with an overflow and a built-in strainer, so you shouldn’t need a hardware-store run to finish the job.

The body is described as stainless steel, and the listing says the faucet meets lead-free standards and is registered with the California Energy Commission (CEC). It ships with a 1.2 gpm aerator, which Hurran says saves 20% water without sacrificing performance, plus a second replaceable aerator for higher flow. Two 90-degree lever handles operate ceramic cartridges, and the high-arc spout swivels 360 degrees, with a listed spout height of 5.2 inches and a reach of 4.8 inches.

Hurran says you can install it in four steps and about 15 minutes. It fits mounting holes from 7/8 to 1-3/8 inches and decks up to 1.2 inches thick, and the brand names powder rooms, RV sinks, campers, laundry rooms and rental houses as uses. The brushed nickel finish is said to resist fingerprints and water spots.

It suits landlords, flippers and anyone outfitting an RV or utility sink who wants everything in one box at the lowest price tier. Keep the receipt and packaging, since the warranty field is empty.

Why we like it

  • Supply lines and drain included
  • 1.2 gpm aerator
  • Detailed fit dimensions

Watch out for

The listing names no NSF standard and the warranty field is empty, so check Hurran’s store page for warranty terms before you install.

SellerHurran
Best Sellers Rank#249 overall; #1 in Touch On Faucets (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Everything in one box is Hurran’s pitch: “2 pcs H/C 24-in bathroom faucet water supply lines” plus a “Matching-finish pop-up bathroom sink drain with overflow and built-in strainer.” No other listing here names supply lines in the box.

It also lists a “1.2 gpm no-splashing water-saving” aerator “registered with the California Energy Commission,” and a second aerator for higher flow. Fit details are unusually complete: “Spout Height:5.2 inch. Spout Reach:4.8 inch,” “Mounting Hole Diameter:7/8-1 3/8 inch. Max. Deck Thickness:1.2 inch.”

It ranks #249 overall and #1 in Touch On Faucets, the best rank here. The seller is Hurran, the brand’s own store, not Amazon.com. The warranty and weight fields are empty, the manufacturer field names a different company, and the lead-free claim (“meets lead-free standards”) names no NSF standard, unlike Moen’s NSF 61 statement.

Rentals, RVs and quick powder-room refreshes are where it makes sense. Anyone who wants a stated lifetime warranty should pay a little more for the Moen Idora or Pfister Willa.

Pros

  • Best rank here: #249 overall
  • Two 24-in supply lines and pop-up drain included
  • 1.2 gpm aerator, registered with the CEC, per listing
  • Spout height 5.2 in, reach 4.8 in, per listing
  • Sold by Hurran, the brand’s own store

Cons

  • Warranty field empty: not stated
  • Weight field empty: not stated
  • No NSF standard named; listing says “meets lead-free standards”
  • Manufacturer field lists a different company name

Best for: A landlord or budget remodeler who wants a complete centerset kit, including supply lines and drain, at the lowest price tier.

How We Chose the Best Bathroom Faucets

We limited picks to faucets in stock and sold by Amazon.com or the brand’s own store, covered each common mounting style, and compared what each listing says:

  • Mounting: single-hole, 4-inch centerset or widespread, and any deck plate.
  • What’s in the box: drain assembly, supply lines and install tools, quoted only where stated.
  • Valve: ceramic disc or cartridge details and any stated test life.
  • Flow rate and WaterSense: gallons per minute and the WaterSense label, only where the listing gives them.
  • Lead-free and NSF statements: quoted as written.
  • Warranty and popularity: the warranty field, Amazon sales rank, and empty or placeholder fields flagged.

One quirk: Amazon files every pick under “Touch On Faucets,” but none of the listings describes a touch-activated faucet. We treat that category rank as a rough popularity signal only.

Bathroom Faucet Buying Guide

Best Single-Hole, Centerset or Widespread Bathroom Faucet

Measure center to center between the two outer holes. Four inches means a centerset, like the Moen Idora, Pfister Willa or Hurran. Eight inches (or more) means a widespread faucet, like the Delta Arvo, which its listing says fits 4–16 inch spreads, or the Kohler Devonshire. A single hole takes a single-hole faucet; the Moen Karis can also cover a 3-hole sink with its optional deck plate. The Kohler Elate listing doesn’t state its hole layout, so check the spec sheet.

Vessel Sink Faucets

Vessel sinks sit on top of the counter, so they need a tall faucet or a wall-mount spout that clears the bowl’s rim. None of our picks is sold as a vessel faucet. If you have a vessel sink, look for a listing that states a tall spout height and measure from the counter to the rim before buying.

Drain Assembly and Cartridge: What’s Included

Five of our listings include a drain: the Moen Idora (drain assembly), Pfister Willa (Push & Seal), Delta Arvo (push pop-up), Kohler Devonshire (metal pop-up) and Hurran (pop-up with overflow). The Moen Karis and Kohler Elate listings don’t mention one. On valves, Delta says the Arvo’s cartridge is tested to at least 500,000 uses, Kohler cites ceramic disc valves, Hurran lists ceramic cartridges, and Pfister says the valve and cartridge components are included.

WaterSense and Flow Rate

EPA’s WaterSense bathroom faucet page says WaterSense labeled bathroom sink faucets and accessories use a maximum of 1.5 gallons per minute and can reduce a sink’s flow by 30 percent or more from the standard 2.2 gpm. The page also notes a draft proposal to lower that maximum to 1.2 gpm. Of our picks, only the Kohler Elate listing states a WaterSense label. The Kohler Devonshire and Hurran list 1.2 gpm (Hurran via its aerator), and the Moen, Pfister and Delta listings don’t give a flow rate. EPA adds that faucets in public, non-private restrooms typically should flow at 0.5 gpm or less, so for commercial bathroom faucets, shop for a model rated for that use rather than any of these residential picks.

Best Chrome and Brushed Nickel Bathroom Faucets

Polished chrome, like the Moen Idora and Pfister Willa, is the classic match for older fixtures but shows water spots. Spot-resistant brushed finishes, such as Moen Spot Resist on the Karis and Delta SpotShield on the Arvo, are designed to hide fingerprints and spots. A worn finish is usually a sign to replace the faucet rather than paint it, since paint on a fixture handled every day won’t hold up the way a factory finish does; Pfister’s warranty bullet, for example, covers finish as well as function.

Bathroom Faucets for Seniors

Lever handles are easier to work than knobs for anyone with arthritis or a weak grip; the Moen Karis, both Kohler picks and the Hurran describe lever handles in their listings. A single lever, like the Moen Karis or Kohler Elate, sets temperature and flow with one hand. The Moen Idora is the only pick whose listing says it complies with ADA specifications. For the shower, a handheld head helps too; our shower head guide compares handheld and low-flow models.

Cleaning Your Bathroom Faucet

Follow the care instructions in the box, since finishes differ. Spot-resistant finishes are meant to need less wiping, and the Delta Arvo’s drain unscrews from above so you can clear hair without going under the sink. For the kitchen, our kitchen faucet guide covers pull-down, touchless and bridge styles from Moen, Delta and Pfister.

Supply Lines, Shutoff Valves and Water Damage

A new faucet is only as leak-proof as the connections underneath it. While the cabinet is open:

  • Test the shutoff valves. Make sure both turn off fully before you disconnect anything; a stuck valve is easier to replace now than during a leak.
  • Replace old supply lines. Use new braided lines unless your faucet includes its own (the Hurran comes with two 24-inch lines, and Delta’s Arvo uses a click-to-connect hose).
  • Check twice. Run the water and look at every connection with a flashlight, then check again the next day.
  • Fix drips promptly. EPA’s Fix a Leak Week page says a faucet dripping once per second can waste more than 3,000 gallons a year, and that worn washers and gaskets frequently cause faucet leaks.

Homeowners policies often treat sudden, accidental water damage, such as a supply line that bursts, differently from damage caused by a slow leak that went unnoticed. Our Ohio homeowners insurance guide and tips for first-time Ohio homeowners explain what to ask your agent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best bathroom faucet for most homes?

The Moen Karis is our overall pick: a single-lever, single-hole faucet with an optional deck plate for 3-hole sinks, a Spot Resist brushed nickel finish and a limited lifetime warranty field. For a 4-inch centerset on a budget, the Moen Idora includes a drain.

What is the difference between centerset and widespread bathroom faucets?

A centerset puts two handles and a spout on one base over three holes 4 inches apart. A widespread faucet has three separate pieces for holes usually 8 inches apart; the Delta Arvo listing says it fits 4–16 inch spreads.

Do bathroom faucets come with a drain?

Some do. The Moen Idora, Pfister Willa, Delta Arvo, Kohler Devonshire and Hurran listings include a drain. The Moen Karis and Kohler Elate listings don’t mention one, so check before you order.

What flow rate should a bathroom faucet have?

EPA says WaterSense labeled bathroom sink faucets use a maximum of 1.5 gallons per minute, versus a standard 2.2 gpm. The Kohler Elate states a WaterSense label at 1.2 gpm; the Kohler Devonshire and Hurran also list 1.2 gpm.

Which bathroom faucet is best for seniors?

Look for lever handles and a single lever if possible. The Moen Idora is the only pick whose listing says it complies with ADA specifications, and the Moen Karis and Kohler Elate use one lever for temperature and flow.

The Bottom Line

Measure your holes, then pick a faucet. The Moen Karis is the best bathroom faucet for most single-hole and convertible 3-hole sinks. For a 4-inch centerset, the Moen Idora adds a drain and ADA compliance at a low price, the Pfister Willa is the easiest DIY install, and the Hurran kit includes supply lines for the tightest budgets. Widespread vanities get the Delta Arvo or, for a traditional primary bath, the Kohler Devonshire, while the Kohler Elate is the pick for a stated WaterSense label.
