The best fire pit cover depends on whether the fire is lit. A steel mesh spark screen sits over a burning fire to hold in sparks and embers. A fabric weather cover goes over a cold, empty pit to keep rain, leaves and sun off the steel. They solve different problems, and many fire pit owners need one of each.
We compared six options sold by the brand’s own store or by a seller whose listing names the brand as manufacturer, all listed in stock: three round mesh spark screens (22, 27 and 30 inches) with ring handles and pokers, and three round fabric covers from an adjustable 22–34-inch size up to 48 inches. We quote each listing on diameter, material, handle and fastening, flag empty warranty fields, and treat “100% waterproof” as the brand’s claim.
Measure your pit before you order, and never pull a fabric cover over a pit that’s still warm.

1. RGJ 30-Inch Round Fire Pit Spark Screen: Best Overall Spark Screen
RGJ’s 30-inch spark screen is a domed, round mesh lid that sits over a burning wood fire. The listing describes stainless steel with 12 support rods and an upgraded high-temperature paint coating, and the specs put the weight at 5.91 pounds. RGJ sells the same design in 22, 24, 36 and 40-inch sizes, so you can match it to your pit.
In use, the screen goes on once the fire is built. A metal ring on top is the handle, and a foldable fire poker hooks the ring so you can lift the hot screen to add wood without putting your hand near the flames. RGJ says the ring is safer to move than a wide handle because it won’t slide. When the fire’s out and cold, the screen comes apart into four pieces with screws, so it stores flat or packs in the car.
RGJ says the mesh is a tight weave that holds back sparks while still letting the fire breathe. The listing also gives useful advice: measure the inside diameter of your fire pit to choose the size, don’t add too much firewood at once because that can cause excessive sparks, and keep flammable materials away from it. The warranty field is empty.
It suits owners of round 30-inch wood pits, including fire pits sold without a screen, who want a sturdy mesh lid that lifts easily.
Why we like it
- Top rank among spark screens
- Ring handle plus folding poker
- Breaks down into four pieces
Watch out for
Check the inside diameter of your pit, not the outer rim, before choosing a size.

| Model | Fire Pit Spark Screen |
| Seller | HFSYDZ |
| Best Sellers Rank | #5,483 overall; #1 in Fire Pit Spark Screens (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Rank leads the case: RGJ’s screen line ranks #1 in Fire Pit Spark Screens, and this 30-inch listing shows #5,483 overall, ahead of TUSGENK (#2) and JXLXYY (#5).
The build backs it up. RGJ lists “stainless steel” with “12 support rods,” the only screen here that names stainless and the most support rods listed. It adds “a foldable fire poker” and a top ring that it says is “safer to move” than a wide handle. The screen “can be divided into 4 pieces,” and RGJ also offers 22 to 40-inch sizes.
Check two things. The seller is HFSYDZ, not an RGJ-named store, though the manufacturer field reads RGJ. The warranty field is empty, and at 5.91 pounds it’s the heaviest screen here. RGJ’s own tips are worth following: “measure the inside diameter of your fire pit” and “do not add too much firewood at once.”
Got a 30-inch round wood pit and want the best-selling stainless screen? Start here. Anyone with a 22-inch pit will pay less with TUSGENK.
Pros
- #1 in Fire Pit Spark Screens, best screen rank here
- Stainless steel with 12 support rods, per the listing
- Foldable poker and top ring handle included
- Splits into 4 pieces for storage
- RGJ also lists 22, 24, 36 and 40-inch sizes
Cons
- Warranty field is empty
- Sold by HFSYDZ rather than an RGJ-named store (manufacturer field reads RGJ)
- Heaviest pick at a listed 5.91 lb
- Height of the dome not stated
Best for: An owner of a 30-inch round wood pit who wants the most popular stainless spark screen with a poker and ring handle.
2. TUSGENK ARC 22-Inch Fire Pit Spark Screen: Best Budget Spark Screen
TUSGENK’s ARC screen is a 22-inch round mesh lid for small wood-burning fire pits. The listing gives the dimensions plainly: 22 inches across and 4.6 inches high. The specs list a weight of 3 pounds. TUSGENK says the same screen comes in 24, 27, 30, 36 and 40-inch sizes as well.
Day to day it works like any spark screen: set it over the fire once it’s going, and lift it with the folding poker when you need to adjust wood. TUSGENK says the fine mesh helps reduce flying sparks and that the poker lets you tend the fire without reaching your hands toward it. When you’re done and everything is cold, the screen separates into four sections held by 12 screws, so it can travel in a car trunk.
The frame is steel with four additional curved support bars and a high-temperature, rust-resistant black coating. The listing doesn’t say stainless. The warranty field is empty; TUSGENK’s bullets mention free replacements for quality issues within the warranty period but don’t give the period. The listing also tells buyers to check their fire pit dimensions before ordering.
It suits owners of compact 22-inch pits, campers and anyone who wants a basic, light mesh screen without spending much.
Why we like it
- Clear diameter and height in the listing
- Light at 3 pounds
- Packs into four sections
Watch out for
The size field disagrees with the 22-inch bullet, so measure your pit against the bullet dimensions.
Key Specifications
| Type | Round steel mesh spark screen with handle |
|---|---|
| Diameter / height | 22 in / 4.6 in (bullets) |
| Material | Steel, high-temperature rust-resistant black coating |
| Assembly | 4 sections, 12 screws |
| Weight (specs) | 3 lb |
| Size | 12 x 12 x 0.1 in |
| Listed weight | 3 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated in listing |
| Model | Fire-HX-02 |
| Seller | Moranton |
| Best Sellers Rank | #8,055 overall; #2 in Fire Pit Spark Screens (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Small pits are where TUSGENK shines. The ARC screen is “22 in. across and 4.6 in. high,” the only screen whose bullets state a height, and it ranks #2 in Fire Pit Spark Screens and #8,055 overall.
It’s the lightest screen on the page at a listed 3 pounds, and it comes in the lowest price tier among the screens. The frame uses “four additional curved support bars” and a “high-temperature, rust-resistant black coating,” and it splits into “four sections with 12 screws.” A folding poker is included, as with RGJ and JXLXYY.
The listing has gaps. It says steel but never stainless, the warranty field is empty, and the bullet promising replacements “within the warranty period” doesn’t give a period. The size field reads 12 x 12 x 0.1 inches, which clashes with the 22-inch bullet. Moranton is the seller, and the manufacturer field reads TUSGENK.
A light, inexpensive screen for a compact 22-inch pit is exactly what this is. Anyone wanting stainless steel should look at RGJ.
Pros
- #2 in Fire Pit Spark Screens
- Listing gives both diameter (22 in) and height (4.6 in)
- Four curved support bars reinforce the frame
- Folding poker and handle included
- Lightest screen here at a listed 3 lb
Cons
- Warranty field is empty; the bullets mention replacements “within the warranty period” without a term
- Size field reads 12 x 12 x 0.1 in, which conflicts with the 22-inch bullet
- Steel type not stated (not listed as stainless)
- Sold by Moranton; manufacturer field reads TUSGENK
Best for: An owner of a small 22-inch pit who wants a low-cost mesh screen with a poker.
3. JXLXYY 27-Inch Fire Pit Spark Screen: Best Mid-Size Spark Screen
JXLXYY’s 27-inch spark screen is a round mesh lid sized for 27-inch fire pits, a common size for stainless smokeless drums as well as steel bowls. The specs give 27 x 27 x 5.9 inches and 5 pounds, and JXLXYY sells it from its own store.
It sits over the fire to keep sparks in the pit, and the brand says it ends the worry about large embers flying through the air. A metal ring on top serves as the handle, and the included poker hooks it, so you can lift the screen and add a log while the fire keeps going. JXLXYY says the shield nests inside the fire pit for travel.
The listing describes heavy-duty metal mesh with an upgraded heat- and rust-resistant coating that it says can hold up to a direct flame, and a frame that doesn’t easily deform when you press on the grid. It doesn’t say whether the steel is stainless, and the warranty field is empty. One line calls it “ideal for use on wood decks, pine needles, or any safety-sensitive area”; a screen reduces sparks, but it doesn’t change where a wood fire should sit.
It suits owners of 27-inch round pits who want a mid-size screen with a ring handle and poker, bought straight from the brand.
Why we like it
- Fits a popular 27-inch size
- Ring handle and poker
- Brand-store seller
Watch out for
Treat the wood-deck line as marketing: keep the pit on stone or bare ground regardless of the screen.
Key Specifications
| Type | Round metal mesh spark screen with ring handle |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 27 in |
| Size (specs) | 27 x 27 x 5.9 in |
| Material | Metal mesh, heat- and rust-resistant coating |
| Weight (specs) | 5 lb |
| Size | 27 x 27 x 5.9 in |
| Listed weight | 5 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated in listing |
| Model | Fire pot spark screen |
| Seller | JXLXYY |
| Best Sellers Rank | #17,474 overall; #5 in Fire Pit Spark Screens (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Fit is the reason to choose JXLXYY: it’s the 27-inch screen in this lineup, a size that matches many smokeless stainless drums and steel bowls, and the size field (27 x 27 x 5.9 inches) agrees with the title.
JXLXYY sells it from its own store, the only brand-store seller among the three screens. It ranks #5 in Fire Pit Spark Screens. The listing describes a “metal ring” handle that is “safer to move” and a poker, and says the shield “nests inside the fire pit for convenient travel.” At 5 pounds it sits between TUSGENK and RGJ.
Gaps: the warranty field is empty, the material is only “heavy duty metal mesh,” and the model field is a generic phrase. One bullet calls it “ideal for use on wood decks.” A screen cuts sparks, but USFA still says to keep fire pits 10 feet from anything that can burn, so don’t read that as deck approval.
Choose it for a 27-inch pit when buying from the brand directly matters to you. If your pit is 30 inches or larger, RGJ’s sizes fit better.
Pros
- Sold by JXLXYY, the brand
- #5 in Fire Pit Spark Screens
- Ring handle and poker included
- Nests inside the fire pit for travel, per the listing
- Size field (27 x 27 x 5.9 in) matches the title
Cons
- Warranty field is empty
- Metal type not stated beyond “metal mesh”
- Listing pitches it for use on wood decks; a screen doesn’t make a deck fire safe
- Model field is a generic description
Best for: An owner of a 27-inch round pit, including popular 27-inch smokeless models, who wants a screen from the brand’s own store.
4. QH.HOME 36-Inch Round Fire Pit Cover: Best Waterproof Fire Pit Cover
QH.HOME’s 36-inch cover is a round fabric hood for a cold fire pit or fire pit table. It fits pits up to 36 inches across, stands 20 inches high, and the brand says it suits 34, 35 and 36-inch bowls and tables. QH.HOME tells buyers to measure diameter and height before ordering.
You use it after the fire is completely out and the steel is cold: drop it over the pit, cinch the drawstring and leave it until the next fire. QH.HOME says vents let air out, and a handle makes it easy to pull off. The point is to keep rain, snow, leaves, dust and bird droppings out of the bowl, which matters most for painted steel pits that can rust or bowls without drain holes that collect water.
The fabric is listed as 600D heavy-duty oxford with a waterproof vinyl and PVC coating and heat-sealed tape, which QH.HOME calls three layers of protection that prevent “100% of rainwater infiltration.” The brand also says it uses UPF50+ fabric that blocks 98 percent of UV. The warranty field is empty; the listing offers replacement for quality problems or shipping damage.
It suits owners of mid-size round pits who want a popular, low-cost cover that stays put with a drawstring.
Why we like it
- Top rank among fire pit covers
- Coated fabric with sealed seams
- Vents and drawstring
Watch out for
Only a drawstring holds it down, so windy yards may want straps; and it goes on a cold pit only.
Key Specifications
| Type | Round 600D fabric weather cover |
|---|---|
| Fits | Round pits 34–36 in diameter |
| Cover size | 36 in diameter x 20 in high |
| Fabric | 600D oxford, vinyl and PVC coating, heat-sealed tape |
| Fastening | Drawstring, air vents, handle |
| Size | 36 x 36 x 20 in |
| Listed weight | 1.59 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated in listing |
| Model | QH.HOME LLC |
| Seller | FUTURERISE LLC |
| Best Sellers Rank | #475 overall; #1 in Fire Pit Covers (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Popularity is hard to argue with: QH.HOME’s 36-inch cover ranks #1 in Fire Pit Covers and #475 overall, the best rank on this page.
The construction is well described. QH.HOME lists “600D heavy duty oxford fabric,” “waterproof vinyl, PVC coating and heat-sealed waterproof tape,” plus “air vents, an adjustable tightening drawstring and portable handle.” It gives both dimensions, 36 inches across and 20 inches high, for “34″, 35″, 36″ in Diameter” pits. GuardKove has heavier fabric; maobutte costs less but lists no vents.
The seller is FUTURERISE LLC, while the manufacturer field reads QH.HOME. The warranty field is empty; the listing offers a replacement for “quality problems or shipping damage.” The “100% of rainwater” claim is the brand’s, and with only a drawstring, it has no buckle straps like GuardKove’s.
Anyone with a 34 to 36-inch round pit or table can start here. Large-pit owners in windy spots should pick GuardKove instead.
Pros
- #1 in Fire Pit Covers, #475 overall
- Vinyl and PVC coating with heat-sealed tape, per the listing
- Air vents, drawstring and handle
- States its height (20 in) as well as diameter
- Manufacturer field reads QH.HOME
Cons
- Warranty field is empty; bullets offer replacement for quality or shipping problems
- Sold by FUTURERISE LLC rather than a QH.HOME-named store
- No buckle straps listed
- “100% waterproof” is the brand’s claim
Best for: An owner of a 34 to 36-inch round fire pit or table who wants the most popular fabric cover for cold storage.
5. GuardKove 48-Inch Round Fire Pit Cover: Best Large Fire Pit Cover
GuardKove’s 48-inch cover is a round fabric hood for big fire pits and fire pit tables. It fits pits up to 48 inches across and 24 inches high, and the brand says it’s compatible with most 46 to 48-inch fire bowls and tables. GuardKove also sells a 44-inch version.
The fabric is the headline: GuardKove calls it industrial-grade 1000D oxford cloth, “twice as thick as standard covers,” with a PVC inner coating and double heat-sealed seams. Day to day, you pull it over the cold pit, cinch the drawstring and clip the two buckle straps. GuardKove says that keeps it from slipping, flapping or blowing away in high winds, and mesh vents cut down on condensation underneath.
GuardKove claims the UPF50+ material blocks 99.99 percent of UV rays and resists fading for up to three years, and that the cover handles temperatures from -25°F to 240°F. That upper number isn’t permission to cover a pit that’s still warm; wait until the steel and ash are completely cold. The warranty and weight fields are empty, though the listing offers replacement or refund for quality or shipping problems.
It suits owners of large round pits and fire tables, especially in open, windy yards where a drawstring alone won’t keep a cover on.
Why we like it
- Thick 1000D fabric
- Buckle straps for wind
- Vents and handles
Watch out for
Measure first: it’s cut for 46 to 48-inch pits and will bag loosely on anything smaller.
Key Specifications
| Type | Round 1000D fabric weather cover |
|---|---|
| Fits | Round pits up to 48 in diameter x 24 in high |
| Fabric | 1000D oxford, PVC inner coating, double heat-sealed seams |
| Fastening | 2 buckle straps, drawstring, mesh vents |
| UV | UPF50+, per GuardKove |
| Size | 48 x 48 x 24 in |
| Listed weight | Not stated in listing |
| Warranty | Not stated in listing |
| Model | 48HPY-008 |
| Seller | GuardKove |
| Best Sellers Rank | #1,450 overall; #3 in Fire Pit Covers (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Fabric weight sets GuardKove apart. The listing claims “industrial-grade 1000D Oxford cloth,” the heaviest stated here, against QH.HOME’s 600D and maobutte’s unstated denier.
It’s also the only cover with straps: “2 buckle straps and an adjustable drawstring,” which GuardKove says keep it from “slipping, flapping, or blowing away.” Mesh vents and reinforced handles round it out, and it fits pits “up to 48″ D x 24″ H.” It ranks #3 in Fire Pit Covers and #1,450 overall, and GuardKove sells it directly.
Weigh the gaps. Warranty and weight fields are empty. The UV claim (“99.99% of harmful UV rays”) and the “-25°F to 240°F” range are GuardKove’s, and neither means you can cover a warm pit. One bullet calls it a “gas fire pit cover,” but nothing suggests it won’t fit a wood bowl of the right size.
Buy it for a 46 to 48-inch pit or fire table in an open, windy yard. Smaller pits will be better served by QH.HOME or maobutte.
Pros
- Heaviest fabric here: 1000D oxford, per the listing
- Two buckle straps plus a drawstring
- Mesh vents and reinforced handles
- #3 in Fire Pit Covers
- Sold by GuardKove, the brand
Cons
- Warranty field and weight field are empty
- Only fits large pits (46–48 in)
- The -25°F to 240°F rating is a brand claim, not a reason to cover a warm pit
- Listing calls it a “gas fire pit cover” in one bullet
Best for: An owner of a large 46 to 48-inch round fire pit or table who wants heavy fabric and straps that hold in wind.
6. maobutte Round Fire Pit Cover (22–34 Inch): Best Budget Fire Pit Cover
maobutte’s cover is a round, one-size fabric hood for small and mid-size fire pits. The listing gives the cover size as up to 34 inches by 15 inches high and says it covers most 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 and 34-inch round pits. The specs list it at 0.63 pounds.
Using it is as simple as it gets: once the pit is cold and the ashes are out, pull the cover over the bowl and tighten the rope so it won’t slide off. maobutte says it keeps the fire pit dry and clean and is easy to put on and take off. On a smaller pit the extra fabric gathers under the rope, so the fit is looser than a cover cut to one size.
The fabric is listed as heavy-duty oxford cloth with a thick PVC coating that maobutte calls anti-UV, tear-resistant, waterproof and dustproof. No denier is given, and the listing doesn’t mention vents, straps or handles. The warranty field is empty, but the “What You Get” bullet includes “our 12 months manufacturer warranty.”
It suits owners of small or mid-size steel bowls who mainly want to keep rain out of the pit between fires and don’t want to spend much.
Why we like it
- Very low cost
- Fits a wide range of small pits
- Stated 12-month warranty
Watch out for
With no vents or straps, it’s a basic cover; windy or very wet yards may want something heavier.
Key Specifications
| Type | Round oxford fabric weather cover, one size for 22–34 in |
|---|---|
| Fits | Round pits about 20–34 in |
| Cover size | Up to 34 x 15 in |
| Fabric | Heavy-duty oxford with PVC coating |
| Weight (specs) | 0.63 lb |
| Size | 34 x 34 x 15 in |
| Listed weight | 0.63 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated in listing |
| Model | Round – 34 inch |
| Seller | maobutteDirect |
| Best Sellers Rank | #5,721 overall; #19 in Fire Pit Covers (Oct 2026) |
Why We Recommend It
Cost and range make the argument. maobutte’s cover sits in the lowest price tier on the page and claims to fit “most 20″, 22″, 24″, 26″, 28″, 30″, 32″, 34″ round fire pit” sizes with one cover up to 34 x 15 inches.
It’s also the only fabric cover that states a term of coverage: the bullets promise “our 12 months manufacturer warranty,” even though the warranty field itself is empty. maobutteDirect, the brand’s store, is the seller, and it ranks #19 in Fire Pit Covers and #5,721 overall. The specs list just 0.63 pounds.
The trade-off is detail. The listing gives “heavy duty oxford cloth with thick PVC coating” but no denier, and mentions only “a tightening rope,” with no vents, straps or handles like QH.HOME and GuardKove offer. On a 22-inch pit, a one-size cover will gather loosely.
Small-pit owners who mainly want rain out of the bowl for very little money should choose it. Windy or very wet yards deserve a heavier, vented cover.
Pros
- Lowest-cost pick on the page
- One size covers 20 to 34-inch round pits, per the listing
- 12-month manufacturer warranty stated in the bullets
- Tightening rope included
- Sold by maobutteDirect, the brand’s store
Cons
- Warranty field itself is empty
- Denier (fabric weight) not stated
- No vents, straps or handles listed
- “Waterproof” is the brand’s claim
Best for: An owner of a small or mid-size round pit who wants a basic rain and dust cover for very little money.
How We Chose the Best Fire Pit Covers and Screens
We included both kinds of fire pit cover: steel mesh spark screens for a burning fire and fabric covers for a cold one. Every pick is listed in stock and sold either by the brand’s own store or by a seller whose listing names the brand as manufacturer. We compared what each listing says about:
- Diameter and fit: stated diameter and height, and the range of pit sizes the brand says it fits.
- Material: stainless or coated steel mesh for screens; fabric denier, coatings and seams for covers.
- Handle and fastening: ring handles and pokers on screens; drawstrings, buckle straps, vents and handles on covers.
- Waterproof and UV claims: quoted as the brand’s claims, not as tested results.
- Warranty field, seller and rank: empty warranty fields flagged, and Amazon sales rank within Fire Pit Spark Screens or Fire Pit Covers.

Fire Pit Cover Buying Guide
Best Fire Pit Spark Screen vs. a Weather Cover
A spark screen is steel mesh and goes on while the fire burns; it lets air in and keeps sparks and embers from floating out. A weather cover is fabric and goes on only after the fire is out and the pit is cold. Don’t confuse the two: a fabric cover over a warm pit can scorch or catch fire, and a mesh screen won’t keep rain out. If you’re still choosing a pit, our best fire pit guide notes which models come with a screen or cover in the box.
Best Round Fire Pit Cover: Measure First
For a spark screen, measure the inside diameter of the bowl, as RGJ advises, because the screen sits on or inside the rim. For a fabric cover, measure the outside diameter at the widest point plus the height, then pick a cover a little larger. QH.HOME lists 36 x 20 inches for 34 to 36-inch pits, GuardKove up to 48 x 24 inches, and maobutte one size up to 34 x 15 inches for pits from about 20 to 34 inches.

Best Fire Pit Mesh Lid: Material and Frame
RGJ lists stainless steel with 12 support rods; TUSGENK lists steel with four curved support bars and a high-temperature black coating; JXLXYY lists heavy-duty metal mesh with a heat- and rust-resistant coating. All three come apart for storage. Denser frames resist sagging when the lid is lifted hot, and a coating helps against rust, but no listing here gives a mesh size or steel gauge.
Best Fire Pit Screen with Handle
All three screens use a top ring rather than a wide handle, and all three include a poker to hook it. That matters: lifting a hot screen by hand is how people get burned. Keep the poker next to the pit, lift the screen straight up, and set it down on stone or bare ground, never on grass or a chair cushion.

Best Waterproof Fire Pit Cover
All three fabric covers claim to be waterproof. GuardKove lists the heaviest fabric (1000D) with double heat-sealed seams, buckle straps and vents; QH.HOME lists 600D with vinyl and PVC coating, sealed tape, vents and a drawstring; maobutte lists PVC-coated oxford and a tightening rope. Vents help moisture escape so the pit doesn’t sweat under the cover. If you’re protecting the rest of the patio too, see our patio furniture cover guide and our grill cover guide.
Sparks, Embers and When to Cover the Pit
Sparks and embers are the main way a backyard fire spreads, so a screen is worth having on any wood-burning pit:
- Screen the fire. The U.S. Fire Administration’s outdoor fire safety page says to use a metal screen over wood-burning fires to keep sparks from floating out, and to use fire pits at least 10 feet from your home or anything that can burn.
- Skip windy days. The Albany, NY fire department’s fire pit sheet says to avoid using a fire pit on windy days, since flames or embers can spread to your home, yard and nearby trees. It also warns that soft woods like pine or cedar can pop and throw sparks.
- Cool it before you cover it. Albany says to extinguish the fire with water, stir and spread the ashes, and leave only when they’re cool to the touch. Only then does a fabric cover go on. Never cover a warm pit with fabric.
- Move the ashes safely. The USFA heating fire safety handout says to put ashes in a metal container with a lid, outside, at least 10 feet from your home.
- Be ready. Keep a hose, a bucket of water or an extinguisher near the pit; our fire extinguisher guide explains which ratings to look for.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best fire pit cover?
It depends on the job. For a burning fire, the RGJ 30-inch spark screen ranks #1 in Fire Pit Spark Screens and includes a ring handle and folding poker. For a cold pit, the QH.HOME 36-inch fabric cover ranks #1 in Fire Pit Covers and lists a coated 600D fabric with vents.
What is the best fire pit spark screen for a small pit?
The TUSGENK ARC 22-inch is the low-cost pick: 22 inches across and 4.6 inches high per the listing, with a folding poker and a listed weight of 3 pounds. Measure the inside diameter of your pit before ordering.
What is the best waterproof fire pit cover for a large pit?
The GuardKove 48-inch fits pits up to 48 x 24 inches and lists 1000D fabric, double heat-sealed seams, two buckle straps and mesh vents. “Waterproof” is GuardKove’s claim.
Can I put a fabric cover on a fire pit right after the fire?
No. Wait until the fire is fully out and the steel and ashes are cool to the touch. Albany’s fire department says to put the fire out with water, stir and spread the ashes, and leave only once they’re cool. Use a steel mesh screen, not fabric, while there’s any fire or heat.
How do I measure for a fire pit screen or cover?
For a mesh spark screen, measure the inside diameter of the bowl, as RGJ advises. For a fabric cover, measure the widest outside diameter and the height, then choose a cover slightly larger, such as QH.HOME’s 36 x 20-inch cover for 34 to 36-inch pits.
The Bottom Line
For a burning fire, the RGJ 30-inch is the best fire pit cover in screen form: top-ranked, stainless and fitted with a ring handle and poker. The TUSGENK ARC 22-inch covers small pits for less, and the JXLXYY 27-inch fits the popular 27-inch size. For a cold pit, the QH.HOME 36-inch is the most popular fabric cover, the GuardKove 48-inch suits big pits in windy yards, and the maobutte one-size cover is the cheapest way to keep rain out. Screen it while it burns and cover it only once it’s cold.
