My father was a carpenter. My wonderful mother did not work outside the home. Like many I was active in sports from an early age. I enjoyed school and after graduation went to Ohio University where I majored in English with plans to teach. Actually, I became a special needs teacher working with students who find it difficult to learn. After several years of teaching and work with non-profits the call to become a State Farm agent came to me. For over 30 years helping people with their insurance needs has been my career. Over that time State Farm has honored me with Crystal Excellence recognition for service to my customers. My wife, Dona, and I live in the Portsmouth West school district and attend Second Presbyterian church. As well as volunteering in church I enjoy giving my time as a member of the local Salvation Army board as well as being a member of the Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association. I am a proud member of Portsmouth Kiwanis and have been a Kiwanis member since 1983. When a group formed to promote the creation of bike and walking trails in the community I became a founding member of a non-profit that is CONNEX, Inc. I enjoy community service and State Farm has given me the opportunity to do just that.
