Cushions Dry, Tools Locked Up: Best Deck Box Picks From 100 to 200 Gallons

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn’t change our recommendations or the price you pay.

The best deck box is the one that swallows your cushions, pool floats and garden tools, keeps rain off them and, ideally, takes a padlock. Most boxes on Amazon now look alike from a distance: black or brown resin, a hinged lid, a gallon number in the title. The details that separate them are in the listings: how the lid opens and closes, whether there is a place for a lock, how much weight the lid is rated to hold if you sit on it, and whether the brand calls it waterproof or only weather-resistant.

We compared six resin deck boxes from 100 to 200 gallons using their Amazon listings, specs and sales ranks, plus Keter’s own product page for its Westwood. Every pick was in stock and sold by Amazon.com or the brand’s own store when we checked. Gallon figures, waterproof claims and seat ratings are the brands’ words, and we point out where a listing leaves something out or where the numbers don’t add up.

1. Keter Westwood 150-Gallon Deck Box: Best Overall

Keter Westwood 150-Gallon Deck Box

Keter’s Westwood is a 150-gallon resin storage box styled to look like wood planks, sold in brown on this listing. Keter pitches it for outdoor furniture cushions, pool floats “and more,” and describes it as an outdoor storage bench with “enough room to seat 2 adults.”

Day to day it works like a low chest. You lift the lid, drop in seat cushions or a deflated float, and close it. The listing mentions “an easy-lift mechanism for an effortless open and a quiet close,” and Keter’s own product page says the lid has pistons and the box has built-in carrying handles. The same page lists exterior dimensions of 61 x 28.5 x 25.35 inches and an interior of 56 x 24.6 x 22.8 inches, which helps you check whether long cushions will lie flat.

Keter says the “thick exterior resin prevents rusting, peeling, and denting,” and calls the materials “all-weather-resistant.” Its product page adds a ventilated design to help keep contents dry and says the box is lockable with the addition of a padlock. That page also lists a 660-pound loading capacity and a product weight of 40.78 pounds; the Amazon specs give 39.1 pounds.

It suits households that want a name-brand box with a stated two-year limited warranty, room for a full set of patio cushions and a lid that doubles as a two-person bench by the pool or grill.

Why we like it

  • Wood-plank look in brown
  • Two-person bench lid
  • 2-Year Limited warranty field

Watch out for

The Amazon size field is clearly wrong, and Keter stops short of calling it waterproof, so keep electronics and paper goods elsewhere.

SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#181 overall; #2 in Outdoor Storage & Housing (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Sales rank and seller set the Westwood apart. It ranks #181 overall and #2 in Outdoor Storage & Housing, the best overall rank on this page, and it is the only pick sold by Amazon.com. Its warranty field reads “2-Year Limited,” and no other pick fills that field in.

The listing offers “lots of convenient, lockable storage space,” “enough room to seat 2 adults” and “an easy-lift mechanism for an effortless open and a quiet close.” Keter’s product page adds a 660-pound loading capacity, piston-assisted lid, carrying handles and exterior dimensions of 61 x 28.5 x 25.35 inches. Amazon lists 39.1 pounds; Keter says 40.78.

Gaps exist. The Amazon size field reads 24.02 x 11.22 x 10 inches, which can’t hold 150 gallons, so we rely on Keter’s own measurements. Keter says “all-weather-resistant” where EFU, KAMABOKO and Devoko say waterproof. It shares the top price tier with the GGYI and has no wheels, unlike the EFU.

Shoppers who value a known brand, an Amazon.com sale and a written warranty term should start here. If you need wheels or the highest seat rating, look at the EFU or KAMABOKO.

Pros

  • Best overall sales rank here: #181 overall, #2 in Outdoor Storage & Housing
  • Only pick sold by Amazon.com
  • Only pick with a warranty field filled in: “2-Year Limited”
  • Lockable, seats two adults, per listing
  • Keter’s site lists a 660 lb loading capacity and piston-assisted lid

Cons

  • Listed size (24.02 x 11.22 x 10 in) can’t be a 150-gallon box: not stated
  • Calls itself “all-weather-resistant,” not waterproof
  • Highest price tier on this page, with the GGYI
  • No wheels; Keter’s site mentions carrying handles

Best for: A homeowner who wants a well-known brand, a stated warranty and a bench-height box for cushions and pool floats.

2. EFU 150-Gallon Gen 2 Deck Box: Best Value with Wheels

EFU 150-Gallon Gen 2 Deck Box

EFU’s Gen 2 deck box is a 150-gallon black resin storage chest with gas struts and wheels, both named in the title. EFU markets it as an outdoor toy box, a tool and shoe bin, and even a “package delivery box” for porch drop-offs.

In use, the struts are the feature you notice. The listing says “Gas struts keep the lid open,” so you can load a pile of pool noodles or a bag of potting soil with both hands. Wheels let you roll it across a patio or into a corner of the garage for winter rather than dragging it.

EFU calls the box “Waterproof & Dust-Proof” and says the “scratch-resistant resin” prevents fading. It has a padlock hole, so you can add your own lock, and the listing says it is “Holding 300 lbs” of tools, shoes and patio gear. EFU also promises to help with shipping damage, missing parts or assembly problems if you contact the brand directly. The weight and warranty fields are empty, and the listed size is 21 x 46 x 21.61 inches.

Families with a lot of outdoor toys, renters who may move the box around, and anyone who wants a lockable porch box for deliveries will get the most from it. Because it rolls, it is also easy to wheel into a garage or shed when the patio season ends.

Why we like it

  • Wheels for moving it
  • Lid stays open on gas struts
  • Padlock hole

Watch out for

Weight and warranty aren’t listed, and the 300-pound figure reads as a storage load rather than a seat rating.

ModelCW1B
SellerEFU1
Best Sellers Rank#912 overall; #5 in Deck Boxes (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Wheels are the headline. The EFU is the only pick whose title promises them, and it pairs them with gas struts, so moving and loading take less effort. It ranks #912 overall and #5 in Deck Boxes, the third-best overall rank here behind the Keter and ATMELT.

The listing promises “Waterproof & Dust-Proof” “scratch-resistant resin,” says “Gas struts keep the lid open,” and adds “a padlock hole” for security. EFU calls it a “package delivery box” for porches and says it is “Holding 300 lbs” of tools, shoes and patio gear. It is sold by the brand’s own store, EFU1.

Several fields are empty. Weight and warranty aren’t stated, and the 300-pound figure isn’t presented as a seat rating, unlike the KAMABOKO’s 680 pounds or Devoko’s 500. The listed size of 21 x 46 x 21.61 inches comes to roughly 90 gallons by our math, well below the 150 in the title, so measure before you count on it.

Renters, families with lots of outdoor toys and anyone who rearranges the patio often get the most from rolling storage. Shoppers who want a stated bench rating or warranty should pass.

Pros

  • Only pick with wheels, per title
  • Gas struts hold the lid open
  • Padlock hole for a lock
  • Brand calls it “Waterproof & Dust-Proof”
  • #912 overall, #5 in Deck Boxes
  • Sold by the brand’s store (EFU1)

Cons

  • Weight not stated
  • Warranty field empty: not stated
  • Listed size works out to about 90 gallons by our math, well short of 150
  • “Holding 300 lbs” isn’t clearly a seat rating

Best for: A buyer on a mid-range budget who wants a box they can roll to a new spot and a lid that stays up on its own.

3. ATMELT 170-Gallon Rattan Deck Box: Best Rattan-Look Large Box

ATMELT 170-Gallon Rattan Deck Box

ATMELT’s 170-gallon deck box is a black polypropylene resin chest with a woven rattan texture, built to sit beside wicker patio sets. The title mentions a support rod for the lid, and the brand says it “doubles as a convenient outdoor seating bench.”

ATMELT suggests using it as a pool storage bin, a kids’ outdoor toy box or a porch box for online orders. The listing says the snap-on design lets you set it up “in minutes” without complex tools, and that the resin surface needs “just a quick wipe to clean.”

On weather, the brand claims “excellent water resistance and UV protection to prevent fading,” and says “The ventilated design keeps the interior completely dry.” It also says the resin “will never rust, dent, or peel.” The listing gives a size of 50.85 x 22.24 x 25.69 inches but no weight, no warranty term and no seat rating.

It suits someone who cares how the box looks next to outdoor furniture and wants a lot of space for cushions, toys or garden tools at a mid-range price. Anyone who needs a lock should read the listing closely first. Because the resin needs only a wipe, it also works as a grab-and-go bin for beach towels, sidewalk chalk and the small yard tools you reach for every weekend.

Why we like it

  • Rattan texture
  • Tool-free snap assembly
  • Large 170-gallon claim

Watch out for

The listing never mentions a lock or a padlock point, and the seat rating, weight and warranty are all missing.

Key Specifications

Model006H
SellerATMLT
Best Sellers Rank#421 overall; #2 in Deck Boxes (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Among dedicated deck boxes, nothing here sells better: the ATMELT ranks #2 in Deck Boxes and #421 overall, second only to the Keter in overall rank. It also claims 170 gallons, second only to the GGYI.

ATMELT describes “tough polypropylene resin” that “will never rust, dent, or peel,” “excellent water resistance and UV protection,” and a “ventilated design” that “keeps the interior completely dry.” The “elegant woven rattan texture” is meant to match outdoor furniture, and a “snap-on design” assembles “without complex tools.” The brand’s store, ATMLT, is the seller.

Security is the gap. It is the only pick whose listing doesn’t mention a lock or padlock point, while the other five do. Weight, warranty and seat rating are all missing, and the lid relies on a support rod per the title rather than the gas struts on the EFU, KAMABOKO and Devoko. By our math the listed 50.85 x 22.24 x 25.69 inches comes to about 126 gallons.

Owners of wicker sets who want a big, good-looking box for cushions and toys should consider it. Anyone storing tools or chemicals they need to lock up should choose another pick.

Pros

  • Best Deck Boxes rank here: #2, and #421 overall
  • Woven rattan texture
  • UV protection and ventilated design, per listing
  • Snap-on assembly “without complex tools”
  • Sold by the brand’s store (ATMLT)

Cons

  • Only pick whose listing doesn’t mention a lock
  • Weight and warranty not stated
  • Seat rating not stated
  • Lid support is a rod, per title, not gas struts

Best for: A patio owner with wicker or rattan furniture who wants a big, matching box and doesn’t need to lock it.

4. KAMABOKO 150-Gallon Deck Box: Best Deck Box with Seat

KAMABOKO 150-Gallon Deck Box

KAMABOKO’s 150-gallon box is a black PP resin storage bench with a wood-grain finish. The brand calls it a “giant outside storage box” for full cushion sets, pool gear, garden hoses, heavy yard tools and seasonal gear.

Its lid is the selling point. KAMABOKO says “Dual hydraulic gas struts smoothly lift and hold the lid open,” and that soft-close technology regulates the closing speed, “helping prevent sudden lid drops.” Closed, the top is pitched as extra seating or an outdoor table, and the listing says it is “Built to support up to 680 lbs.”

For weather, the brand says the PP resin resists UV rays, fading, rust, dents and peeling, and that a “lid runoff design helps direct rainwater away” to keep items dry. Side handles help you reposition it, and the lid is lockable, though the lock is not included. The listed weight is 22.38 pounds and the listed size is 46.89 x 20.87 x 23.82 inches. KAMABOKO offers support for assembly questions.

It suits a patio where the box will double as a bench at parties, and anyone who wants the lid to come down gently around children. Its wood-grain finish also helps it look more like furniture than a storage bin when guests are sitting on it, and the side handles make it easier to slide against a wall afterward.

Why we like it

  • 680-pound load claim
  • Soft-close dual struts
  • Rain runoff lid

Watch out for

You supply the lock, and the warranty field is blank.

ModelTT059-BK
SellerKAMABOKO-US
Best Sellers Rank#1,466 overall; #11 in Deck Boxes (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Want the lid to double as a real bench? KAMABOKO says it is “Built to support up to 680 lbs,” the highest stated load on this page, ahead of Keter’s site figure of 660 and Devoko’s 500.

The lid hardware is the most detailed here: “Dual hydraulic gas struts smoothly lift and hold the lid open,” with soft-close technology “helping prevent sudden lid drops.” A “lid runoff design helps direct rainwater away,” the PP resin is said to resist UV, fading, rust, dents and peeling, and the “lockable lid (lock not included)” and side handles round it out. At 22.38 pounds it is the lightest listed weight among the picks that give one.

It ranks #1,466 overall and #11 in Deck Boxes, mid-pack here. The warranty field is empty, and you supply the padlock. The listed size of 46.89 x 20.87 x 23.82 inches works out to about 101 gallons by our math, so the 150-gallon figure deserves a tape measure.

Hosts who need extra seating and parents who want a gentle-closing lid should look hard at it. If a stated warranty or Amazon.com as seller matters most, the Keter fits better.

Pros

  • Highest stated load: “Built to support up to 680 lbs”
  • Dual hydraulic gas struts with soft close
  • Lid runoff design for rain
  • Lightest listed weight here: 22.38 lb
  • Lockable lid and side handles
  • Sold by the brand’s store (KAMABOKO-US)

Cons

  • Lock not included
  • Warranty field empty: not stated
  • #1,466 overall, #11 in Deck Boxes
  • Listed size works out to about 101 gallons by our math

Best for: A household that wants a sturdy-rated bench lid for guests plus room for cushions, hoses and yard tools.

5. Devoko 100-Gallon Wicker-Style Deck Box: Best Mid-Size Lockable

Devoko 100-Gallon Wicker-Style Deck Box

Devoko’s 100-gallon deck box is a black poly resin chest molded with a rattan pattern, aimed at decks, gardens, porches and poolside spots. The brand lists a storage capacity of 100 gallons and inner dimensions of 47.8 x 21.4 x 24.6 inches.

Those inside measurements make planning easy. You can check whether a chaise cushion, a folded umbrella base cover or a long-handled rake will lie flat before you buy. Devoko says the box gives “two comfortable seatings” with a 500-pound weight capacity, and two side handles help you move it.

The lid has “two gas rods for easy opening and slowly closing,” which Devoko says “prevents hands from getting clamped,” and the listing adds that the “Lockable lid will keep your belongings safe and secure.” Devoko describes the resin as “weather-resistant and waterproof” and says it prevents fading, rusting, peeling and bending. The listed weight is 55 pounds; the warranty field is empty.

It suits smaller decks and front porches, and anyone who prefers a box that also works as a two-person bench indoors, which Devoko also suggests. The rattan pattern is meant to sit well beside wicker chairs, and the listed inside measurements take the guesswork out of whether your gear will fit before you order. Plan on a helper to move it, given its listed weight.

Why we like it

  • Inside dimensions listed
  • 500-pound bench rating
  • Slow-close gas rods

Watch out for

At 100 gallons it holds less than a full set of large cushions may need, and it is heavy to move.

Key Specifications

Listed weight55 pounds
WarrantyNot stated in listing
Modeldeck box-1
Sellerdevokowholesale
Best Sellers Rank#2,859 overall; #15 in Deck Boxes (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Measurements are where Devoko earns its place: it is the only listing that gives inside dimensions, 47.8 x 21.4 x 24.6 inches, so you can check fit before buying. At 100 gallons it is also the smallest box here, handy for tighter decks.

The listing promises “two comfortable seatings (weight capacity of 500 lbs),” “two gas rods for easy opening and slowly closing” that prevent “hands from getting clamped,” and a “Lockable lid” to keep belongings “safe and secure.” Devoko calls the poly resin “weather-resistant and waterproof.” The raw listing names Devoko as manufacturer, and the seller is the brand’s store, devokowholesale.

Watch the weight and rank. At 55 pounds it is the heaviest listed box here, and it ranks #2,859 overall and #15 in Deck Boxes, behind the Keter, ATMELT, EFU and KAMABOKO. The warranty field is empty. Its 500-pound rating trails the KAMABOKO’s 680.

Small decks, porches and anyone who wants exact interior numbers will like it. Households with full cushion sets for a large patio may need one of the 150-gallon-plus boxes.

Pros

  • Only listing that gives inside dimensions: 47.8 x 21.4 x 24.6 in
  • Seats two, rated to 500 lbs, per listing
  • Two gas rods for slow closing
  • Lockable lid and two side handles
  • Sold by the brand’s store (devokowholesale)

Cons

  • Smallest capacity here: 100 gallons
  • Heaviest listed weight: 55 lb
  • Warranty field empty: not stated
  • #2,859 overall, #15 in Deck Boxes

Best for: A deck or porch owner who wants a lockable bench box that fits a tighter space and clear inside measurements.

6. GGYI 200-Gallon Lockable Deck Box: Best Extra-Large

GGYI 200-Gallon Lockable Deck Box

GGYI’s deck box is a black UV-resistant resin chest that the brand says “fits up to 200 gallons.” The title calls it a lockable, waterproof deck box and a sturdy bench for patio and garden, and the listing names garden tools, patio cushions, cleaning equipment “and even folding chairs” as things it can hold.

Opening and closing are handled by a hydraulic support system. GGYI says “the lid stays securely open when lifted and descends gently with a simple push,” which it frames as “No more slammed lids.” Closed, the top “doubles as extra seating or a side table,” though the listing doesn’t give a seat rating.

The brand says the resin “withstands sun, rain, snow, and humidity” for year-round protection. Security comes from a “built-in lockable latch (padlock not included),” which GGYI positions for unsecured outdoor areas such as porches and decks. The listed size is 54.25 x 26.5 x 24.21 inches and the listed weight is 31.31 pounds; the warranty field is empty.

It suits homes with more gear than a 150-gallon box can handle, especially pool owners who want floats, nets and cleaning tools in one place. Because the padlock is sold separately, add one to your order if you plan to lock it, and measure the spot on your deck first, since the listed footprint is wide.

Why we like it

  • 200-gallon claim
  • Slow-close hydraulic lid
  • Padlock-ready latch

Watch out for

Its rank is the weakest on the page, and the listed size suggests less room than the 200-gallon headline.

Key Specifications

Model093A-Black-LZ
SellerGGYI
Best Sellers Rank#22,475 overall; #60 in Deck Boxes (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Size is the reason to buy the GGYI. It claims up to 200 gallons, the most here, and its listed 54.25 x 26.5 x 24.21 inches is the largest footprint on the page.

GGYI lists a “hydraulic support system” for “a slow, controlled closing motion,” a “built-in lockable latch (padlock not included),” and “UV-resistant resin” that “withstands sun, rain, snow, and humidity.” The brand says it fits garden tools, patio cushions, cleaning equipment “and even folding chairs,” and the lid “doubles as extra seating or a side table.” The listed weight is 31.31 pounds, and GGYI’s own store is the seller.

The evidence is thinner than for the others. It ranks #22,475 overall and #60 in Deck Boxes, the weakest on this page. No seat rating or warranty term is given. By our math the listed dimensions come to about 151 gallons, short of the 200-gallon claim, though still the biggest listed size here. It shares the top price tier with the Keter.

Pool owners and yards with bulky gear who want the most room in one box should consider it. Shoppers who lean on sales history or a written warranty will be better served by the Keter.

Pros

  • Largest capacity claim here: “fits up to 200 gallons”
  • Largest listed footprint: 54.25 x 26.5 x 24.21 in
  • Hydraulic lid with slow, controlled close
  • Lockable latch (padlock not included)
  • Sold by the brand’s store (GGYI)

Cons

  • Weakest rank here: #22,475 overall, #60 in Deck Boxes
  • Listed size works out to about 151 gallons by our math
  • Seat rating not stated
  • Warranty field empty: not stated

Best for: A yard with lots of bulky gear, from folding chairs to pool cleaning tools, that one box needs to swallow.

How We Chose the Best Deck Boxes

We started from Amazon’s deck box listings and kept only boxes that were in stock and sold by Amazon.com or the brand’s own store on October 8, 2026, with one pick per brand. Then we compared:

  • Capacity: the gallon figure each brand gives, checked against the listed size where we could.
  • Material and weather claims: resin type, UV claims and whether the brand says waterproof or only weather-resistant.
  • Security: a lockable lid, latch or padlock hole, as listed.
  • Lid hardware: gas struts, hydraulic supports or rods, and soft-close claims.
  • Seat rating: the weight the lid is said to hold, or a note that it isn’t stated.
  • Evidence: sales rank, listed weight and warranty field.

Deck Box Buying Guide

Best Large Deck Box: Read Gallons With Care

Gallon numbers are brand claims, and they don’t always match the listed dimensions. By our math (length x width x height in inches, divided by 231), the size fields for the EFU, KAMABOKO, ATMELT and GGYI boxes work out to fewer gallons than their titles claim, while the Devoko’s listed inner dimensions come to about 109 gallons against its 100-gallon claim. The size field may describe the packaging rather than the box, so measure your longest cushion and compare it with the inside dimensions where a brand gives them. Keter lists an interior of 56 x 24.6 x 22.8 inches on its Westwood product page, and Devoko gives 47.8 x 21.4 x 24.6 inches in its listing.

Best Waterproof Deck Box: Who Says What

EFU, KAMABOKO and Devoko call their boxes waterproof, GGYI uses the word in its title, and ATMELT claims “excellent water resistance.” Keter only says “all-weather-resistant.” None of these listings describes a test or a rating, so treat waterproof as marketing. Lid design matters: KAMABOKO describes a runoff lid that directs rain away, and ATMELT and Keter mention ventilation to keep the inside dry. Raise the box off standing water and keep anything that can’t get damp in a sealed bin inside it.

Hail scattered on a wooden deck

Best Lockable Deck Box

Five of the six picks can be locked: Keter (lockable, with a padlock per its site), EFU (padlock hole), KAMABOKO (lockable lid, lock not included), Devoko (lockable lid) and GGYI (lockable latch, padlock not included). ATMELT’s listing doesn’t mention a lock. Budget for a weather-resistant padlock, since most brands don’t include one. A locked lid won’t stop a determined thief, but it keeps tools, pool chemicals and sharp garden gear away from curious kids and casual passers-by.

Best Resin Deck Box vs. Steel

All six picks are resin, which is what most deck boxes on Amazon are made of. The brands promise resin that won’t rust, peel or dent, and Keter, ATMELT and Devoko mold in wood-plank or rattan textures. We didn’t find a steel box that met our stock and seller checks. If you want the sturdiest storage for heavy tools, a garage rack may serve you better than any patio chest; our garage shelving guide compares options.

Garden hand tools laid out on wood

Best Deck Box With Seat

Only three listings give a number for the lid. KAMABOKO says “Built to support up to 680 lbs,” Devoko gives a 500-pound capacity for two seats, and EFU says the box is “Holding 300 lbs,” which reads more like storage load than seating. Keter’s Amazon listing says it seats two adults without a number, though its own site lists a 660-pound loading capacity. ATMELT and GGYI say their lids work as seating but give no figure. Stick to the stated rating and sit near the middle of the lid.

Lid Struts and Soft Close

Gas struts hold a lid up while you load it and slow it on the way down. KAMABOKO lists dual hydraulic gas struts with soft close, Devoko two gas rods, GGYI a hydraulic support, EFU gas struts and Keter an easy-lift mechanism with a quiet close. ATMELT’s title mentions a support rod. If children play near the box, a slow-closing lid is worth having.

Theft, Weather and Pool Chemicals

A deck box keeps outdoor gear tidy, but what you put in it still matters:

  • Lock what tempts. Power tools, bike accessories and pool gear left in an unlocked box are easy pickings. Add a padlock to boxes that take one, and use the lock even when you’re home.
  • Keep pool chemicals dry and separate. The EPA’s chemical safety alert on swimming pool chemicals warns that even a small amount of water splashed on some pool chemicals can trigger a strong reaction that releases heat and toxic gas, that common pool chemicals are incompatible with each other, and that gasoline, oil, oily rags and gas-powered equipment such as lawn mowers should be kept away from them. If you keep pool chemicals in a deck box at all, give them a dry, locked box of their own, away from wet floats, gas cans and mower supplies, and follow the product label.
  • Protect the pool itself. Storing floats out of sight is one layer; our pool alarm guide covers another.
  • Think about the whole patio. If you’re adding warmth for cool evenings too, see our patio heater guide.
  • Ask your agent about stolen outdoor property. Whether a theft from your deck or yard is covered, and for how much, depends on your policy, so ask your agent. Our Ohio homeowners insurance guide explains the basics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best deck box for most people?

The Keter Westwood 150-Gallon is our overall pick. It has the best overall sales rank here, is sold by Amazon.com, is lockable, seats two adults per the listing and is the only pick with a warranty field filled in (2-Year Limited).

What is the best waterproof deck box?

EFU, KAMABOKO and Devoko call their boxes waterproof, and GGYI uses the word in its title. These are brand claims with no stated test. KAMABOKO adds a lid runoff design to shed rain. Keter calls the Westwood all-weather-resistant rather than waterproof.

What is the best large deck box?

The GGYI makes the biggest claim at up to 200 gallons and has the largest listed footprint, followed by the ATMELT at 170 gallons. By our math, both listed sizes come to fewer gallons than claimed, so measure what you need to store.

What is the best lockable deck box?

Keter, EFU, KAMABOKO, Devoko and GGYI all list a lock point; KAMABOKO and GGYI say the padlock is not included. The ATMELT listing doesn’t mention a lock.

What is the best deck box with a seat?

KAMABOKO lists the highest load rating, up to 680 pounds, with soft-close gas struts. Devoko rates its lid at 500 pounds for two seats, and Keter says the Westwood seats two adults.

The Bottom Line

The Keter Westwood 150-Gallon is the best deck box for most patios: the strongest seller here, sold by Amazon.com, lockable and backed by a stated two-year limited warranty. The KAMABOKO is the bench to pick for its 680-pound load claim and soft-close lid, the EFU rolls on wheels at a mid-range price, the ATMELT matches rattan furniture, the Devoko fits smaller decks with listed inside dimensions, and the GGYI claims the most room at 200 gallons.
