Pegboard Hutch, Fold-Down Top or Electric Lift? The Best Workbench for Each Garage

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn’t change our recommendations or the price you pay.

The best workbench is the one that fits your space and your projects. A garage with a free wall can take a 48-inch bench with a pegboard and a power strip. A one-car garage may need a top that folds flat against the wall, and a renter or apartment woodworker may want a bench that folds up and rides in a car trunk.

We compared seven workbenches using their Amazon listings: three 48-inch garage benches with built-in outlets, an electric height-adjustable table, a wall-mounted fold-down top, a portable 2-in-1 clamping bench and a small bamboo-topped stand with a vise. Load ratings on these listings run from 220 pounds to 2,200 pounds, and we quote each one as the brand states it, since how a rating was measured is rarely explained. We also note which listings name a safety certification for their power strips and which say nothing.

1. CAMMOO 48 x 24 Inch Workbench With Pegboard and Power Strip: Best Overall

CAMMOO 48 x 24 Inch Workbench With Pegboard and Power Strip

CAMMOO’s 48 x 24 inch workbench pairs a rubberwood top with four steel legs, a metal storage shelf underneath and a pegboard that mounts to the bench itself. The listing calls the pegboard no-drilling, which means you don’t have to anchor anything to the garage wall, and the brand points out that the pegboard moves with the bench when you pull it away from the wall.

Day to day, the bench is built to be set up once and adjusted as needed. CAMMOO describes a 10-level height adjustment using 360° tool-free knobs, with each level adding 1.34 inches, so you can set it for standing work or lower it for seated jobs. Adjustable metal feet are meant to steady it on an uneven garage floor, and the under-top shelf can be moved to any hole on the legs, giving 13.4 inches of adjustable space for bins and cases.

The power strip has 4 AC outlets and 2 USB-A ports on a 6.5-foot cable, and CAMMOO says the socket is ETL-certified. An LED light fixed to the pegboard lights the work surface. The brand rates the rubberwood top for a 2,000-pound max load and credits an H-shaped frame with upper and lower crossbars for stability. CAMMOO says the structure comes partly pre-installed and offers an assembly video.

It suits homeowners setting up a first real garage bench who want storage, power and light without buying each piece separately. Plan for the weight: the listing gives 76.72 pounds, so assembly near its final spot is easier than moving it later.

Why we like it

  • Pegboard, shelf, light and outlets included
  • Tool-free height adjustment
  • Strongest sales rank on the page

Watch out for

The warranty field is empty, and the 2,000-pound rating is a brand claim with no test method given.

ModelWorkbench-W2000
SellerCAMMOO Direct
Best Sellers Rank#6,176 overall; #5 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Shoppers pick this one more than any other bench on the page: it ranks #5 in Workbenches and #6,176 overall. CAMMOO Direct, the brand’s own store, is the seller.

The listing is feature-heavy: a “No Drilling Pegboard mounted on the workbench,” an “LED Lighting fixed on the pegboard,” and a power strip with “4 AC outlets, 2 USB-A ports” on “6.5 FT cables” that CAMMOO says is “ETL-certified.” Height uses a “10-level height adjustment function with 360° Tool-free Knobs, each level offering a 1.34-inch lift.” The top is rubberwood, rated at a “Max Load 2000 LBS.”

Weak spots: the warranty field is empty, the listed weight is 76.72 pounds, and it sits in the top price tier. Northsky lists a wider height range and a slightly higher load claim, and the WEN has drawers this bench lacks.

Garage DIYers who want one bench that covers storage, power, light and height should start here. If you need drawers or wheels, look at the WEN or Northsky.

Pros

  • Best rank here: #5 in Workbenches, #6,176 overall
  • 10 height levels, 1.34 inches per level, per listing
  • Power strip with 4 AC outlets and 2 USB-A ports
  • No-drill pegboard and LED light on the bench
  • Brand claims a 2,000 lb max load

Cons

  • Top price tier
  • Warranty field is empty: not stated
  • 76.72 lb listed
  • Sold by CAMMOO Direct, not Amazon.com

Best for: A garage DIYer who wants a full-size bench with tool storage, outlets and adjustable height in one piece.

2. WEN WB4723T 48-Inch Workbench With Outlets and Light: Best Pegboard Hutch

WEN WB4723T 48-Inch Workbench With Outlets and Light

WEN’s WB4723T is a 48-inch workbench with a tall back hutch: a pegboard panel, an upper shelf above it, a lower shelf under the top and two drawers. The listing gives it a 25 by 48-inch footprint and a total height of 62 inches, so the hutch rises well above the work surface and keeps tools at eye level.

In use, it works like a small tool wall that comes with its own table. Screwdrivers and pliers hang on the pegboard, small parts go in the drawers, and paint cans or cases sit on the lower shelf. WEN describes the top as enamel-coated and non-marring, which helps when you set down finished pieces, and rates it as a 220-pound capacity work surface.

Power and light are built in. The listing says it includes three built-in 13-amp power outlets and an overhead fluorescent light, so a drill charger, soldering iron or work lamp can plug in at the bench. WEN pitches it at woodworkers, mechanics, or anyone else in need of reliable organization. The listing doesn’t mention height adjustment, and it doesn’t name a safety certification for the outlets.

It fits a garage or basement wall where you want everything stored at the bench. Shipping weight matters here: the specs list 88.5 pounds, so have a second person on hand for unboxing and assembly.

Why we like it

  • Drawers plus a full pegboard hutch
  • Built-in outlets and overhead light
  • Sold and shipped by Amazon.com

Watch out for

The 220-pound work surface rating is modest for heavy engine parts, and the bench height is fixed.

Key Specifications

TypeFixed-height bench with hutch
Footprint25 x 48 inches, 62 inches tall
Storage2 drawers, upper and lower shelves, pegboard

Listed weight88.5 pounds
WarrantyNot stated in listing
ModelWB4723T
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#39,378 overall; #37 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Drawers are the difference. WEN’s bench “Features two drawers, upper and lower storage shelves, and a pegboard,” the most enclosed storage on the page.

The listing adds “three built-in 13-amp power outlets and an overhead fluorescent light” and an “Enamel-coated table top” with a “non-marring 220-pound capacity work surface.” It “Measures in at 62 inches tall with a 25 by 48-inch footprint.” Amazon.com is the seller, one of only two picks sold that way.

Several numbers lag the others. The 220-pound surface rating ties the small POWERTEC for lowest here, the bench is the heaviest at 88.5 pounds, and the rank of #37 in Workbenches is the weakest on the page. No height adjustment is listed, the warranty field is empty, and the listing names no outlet certification, unlike the CAMMOO and Northsky.

Woodworkers who value drawers and a tall hutch over adjustability should consider it. Anyone rebuilding engines or stacking heavy parts on the top should choose a bench with a higher rating.

Pros

  • Two drawers, upper and lower shelves and a pegboard
  • Three built-in 13-amp outlets, per listing
  • Overhead fluorescent light
  • Enamel-coated, non-marring top
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • 220-lb work surface capacity, the lowest of the full-size benches
  • Heaviest pick: 88.5 lb listed
  • Height is fixed; no adjustment listed
  • Weakest rank here: #37 in Workbenches

Best for: A woodworker or home mechanic who wants drawers and a tall pegboard hutch more than adjustable height.

3. Northsky 48-Inch Workbench With Wheels: Best Mobile Adjustable

Northsky 48-Inch Workbench With Wheels

Northsky’s 48-inch workbench is a steel-frame bench with a 1-inch engineered wood top, adjustable legs and a set of casters in the box. The listing calls the casters optional: you can stand the bench on its adjustable leveling feet for a stable setup, or fit the wheels and turn it into a mobile workstation.

The adjustable legs give a working height from 27.9 to 43.4 inches, per the listing, which covers seated hobby work and tall standing jobs. Storage is spread around the frame: a rear shelf with four open compartments for hand tools and hardware, a lower shelf for toolboxes and bins, and widened steel pegboards on both sides with 5 long hooks and 6 short hooks.

Power comes from a built-in 1500W power strip with 4 AC outlets, 1 USB-A port, 1 USB-C port and a 6.5-foot cord, and Northsky says the strip is ETL-certified. The brand rates the top for up to 2,200 pounds and the lower shelf for 500 pounds. The tabletop measures 48 by 23.6 inches, and the warranty field reads “1 year warranty.”

It suits a shared garage where the bench has to move for the car, or anyone who likes to roll the work surface to the project. At a listed 79 pounds, the casters are what make moving it practical.

Why we like it

  • Wheels included
  • Wide height range
  • Pegboards on both sides

Watch out for

Lock or remove the casters before heavy hammering, and treat the 2,200-pound figure as the brand’s own claim.

Key Specifications

ModelM2-9001
SellerNorthSky Supply
Best Sellers Rank#18,111 overall; #18 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Wheels and a real warranty term set the Northsky apart. It is the only bench here with casters included, and the only listing with a filled warranty field: “1 year warranty.”

Northsky lists a “working height from 27.9 to 43.4 inches,” a “1500W ETL-certified power strip featuring 4 AC outlets, 1 USB-A port, 1 USB-C port,” and “widened steel pegboards” on both sides with “5 long hooks and 6 short hooks.” The brand says the top “supports up to 2200 lbs” and the lower shelf “500 lbs,” the highest top rating among our picks.

It ranks #18 in Workbenches, behind the CAMMOO and WDOT. NorthSky Supply, not Amazon.com, is the seller, and the bench is listed at 79 pounds. The listing doesn’t explain how the load figures were measured.

Shared garages, small shops and anyone who wants to roll the bench to the project should consider it. If the bench will never move, the CAMMOO offers similar features with a stronger rank.

Pros

  • Casters included for a mobile setup
  • Working height 27.9 to 43.4 inches, per listing
  • Only pick with a filled warranty field: 1 year
  • Dual steel pegboards with 11 hooks
  • Power strip with 4 AC, 1 USB-A and 1 USB-C

Cons

  • Brand claim of 2,200 lbs is not explained
  • 79 lb listed
  • Sold by NorthSky Supply, not Amazon.com
  • #18 in Workbenches

Best for: A DIYer who wants a full-size bench that can roll out of the way or move to the car or the project.

4. FLEXISPOT Electric Adjustable Workbench, 48 x 30: Best Electric Height

FLEXISPOT Electric Adjustable Workbench, 48 x 30

FLEXISPOT, a brand known for standing desks, applies the same idea to a workbench. This model has an electric lift that moves the 48 by 30-inch maple-finish top from 28.1 to 45.7 inches, and 4 preset memory buttons let you save the heights you use most.

That matters on a bench used for very different jobs. Sewing or soldering often happens seated, while sanding, assembling or repairing small engines is easier standing up. With saved presets, the change takes a button press instead of loosening knobs on four legs. FLEXISPOT describes the adjustment as ultra-smooth, and the listing pitches the table for woodworking, painting, repairs, crafts and sewing.

Storage is limited to embedded drawers under the top. The listing doesn’t mention a pegboard, a shelf or built-in outlets, so any power strip or tool storage is up to you. FLEXISPOT says the tabletop stays stable even during high-speed sewing and that the box includes an installation manual and assembly tools, with an installation video for reference. The product ships in 2 packages, per the title.

It suits crafters, sewers and light-duty DIYers who care most about working height. The listing gives no weight and no load capacity, so it isn’t the bench we’d choose for pounding on heavy metal parts.

Why we like it

  • Push-button height change
  • Biggest work surface on the page
  • Memory presets

Watch out for

No load rating, weight or warranty term appears on the listing, and the lift needs a nearby outlet.

Key Specifications

ModelWB+FB+R4830M
SellerFlexiSpot
Best Sellers Rank#22,345 overall; #22 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Push-button height is the reason to buy. FLEXISPOT lists “Ultra-smooth adjustment from 28.1″ to 45.7″” with “4 preset memory buttons,” the only electric lift and the tallest listed height setting here.

Its “48″x30″ Inches roomy surface” is the largest top on the page, and “embeded drawers keep tools neatly organized.” The listing pitches it for “sewing, woodworking, painting or repairing,” and says the box includes “a detailed installation manual and assembly tools.” FlexiSpot’s own store is the seller, and it ranks #22 in Workbenches.

Gaps are significant for a workbench. The listing gives no load capacity, no weight and no warranty term. It has no pegboard or built-in outlets, unlike the CAMMOO, WEN and Northsky, and it sits in the top price tier.

Crafters, sewers and hobbyists who change working height often will get the most from it. Mechanics and anyone doing heavy pounding should pick a bench with a stated load rating.

Pros

  • Only electric lift here
  • Height 28.1 to 45.7 inches, the tallest listed setting here
  • 4 preset memory buttons
  • Largest top here: 48 x 30 inches
  • Built-in drawers

Cons

  • No outlets or pegboard listed
  • Weight not stated
  • Load capacity not stated
  • Warranty field is empty: not stated

Best for: A hobbyist who switches between sitting and standing and wants a motorized height change at the press of a button.

5. Ultrawall Wall-Mounted Folding Workbench: Best Wall-Mounted Folding

Ultrawall Wall-Mounted Folding Workbench

Ultrawall’s folding workbench mounts to the wall on steel brackets and swings down when you are done. The listing says it takes up less than 4 inches of garage space in the down position, which is the whole point: you get a work surface when you need it and a clear walkway or parking spot when you don’t.

The top is natural pine, which Ultrawall describes as having a clear texture and not prone to deformation. The brackets are powder-coated steel with an epoxy finish that the brand says resists rusting, chipping and cracking, and Ultrawall rates them to hold up to 550 pounds. A lock with what the brand calls a very positive locking action snaps into place when the top is up.

Day to day, it behaves like a sturdy shelf-style bench: flip it up, clamp a board, fix a lawn mower part, then fold it away. There is no storage, pegboard or power built in, so plan to hang tools on the wall above it. Ultrawall pitches it for homes, garages, apartments, RVs and sheds, and lists it as a patented design.

It suits small garages and shared spaces. Because the load depends on what the brackets are fastened to, follow the mounting instructions in the box closely.

Why we like it

  • Folds nearly flat to the wall
  • Locking latch
  • Steel brackets with a rust-resistant finish

Watch out for

You need a suitable wall to mount it on, and the listing gives no weight or warranty term.

Key Specifications

TypeWall-mounted fold-down bench

WarrantyNot stated in listing
Model28500
SellerUltrawall
Best Sellers Rank#35,629 overall; #32 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Floor space is what this bench gives back. Ultrawall says it folds to “less than 4 inches of garage space” when down, the slimmest stored profile among our picks.

The listing describes “natural pine wood” tops, “powder coated steel” brackets with an “epoxy finish” that “resist rusting, chipping and cracking,” and brackets that “can hold up to 550 lbs.” A lock gives “a very positive locking action.” Ultrawall’s own store is the seller, and the size field reads 3.5 x 49.75 x 28.25 inches.

It ranks #32 in Workbenches. The listing gives no weight and no warranty term, and there is no storage, pegboard or power. The rating depends on the wall it is fastened to, which no listing can promise.

Owners of one-car or tandem garages who need a work surface only some of the time should look here. Renters who can’t drill into walls should pick the WDOT or POWERTEC instead.

Pros

  • Folds down to less than 4 inches deep, per listing
  • Powder-coated steel brackets with epoxy finish
  • Brand says brackets hold up to 550 lbs
  • Locking latch on the fold-down mechanism
  • Natural pine top

Cons

  • Must be mounted to a wall
  • Weight not stated
  • No storage, outlets or pegboard
  • Warranty field is empty: not stated

Best for: A homeowner with a narrow garage who wants a solid work surface that disappears when the car pulls in.

6. WDOT 2-in-1 Portable Folding Workbench With Clamps: Best Portable Folding

WDOT 2-in-1 Portable Folding Workbench With Clamps

WDOT’s 2-in-1 workbench is a folding, portable table built around clamping. It comes with 2 clamps and 6 bench dogs, and its worktop has a laser-engraved scale and multi-directional positioning slots so you can lock lumber in place for cutting, chamfering or joinery.

The listing says it folds to only 5.9 inches thick and unfolds to a 5.9-foot work surface with no extra assembly, and WDOT claims a 3-second deployment. Metal support legs and anti-slip TPR feet are meant to keep it steady. The “2-in-1” part comes from pre-drilled standard mounting holes that let you attach a table saw, drill or router, turning the bench into a compact machining station.

There is an adjustable storage shelf for screws, bits and tape measures, and WDOT describes the worktop material as non-stick and wear-resistant so shavings wipe away. The brand rates the worktop at 500 pounds and says the folding joints were tested for 100,000 open and close cycles. The specs list 34 pounds and 35 x 25 x 32 inches.

It suits apartment woodworkers, renters and anyone who works at a job site or in the driveway. With no outlets or pegboard, it is a clamping table first and a storage bench not at all.

Why we like it

  • Clamps and bench dogs included
  • Folds thin for storage
  • Tool mounting holes

Watch out for

The cycle test and 500-pound figures are WDOT’s claims, and the warranty field is blank.

Key Specifications

TypePortable folding clamping bench

Work surfaceUnfolds to 5.9 ft, per listing
Workholding2 clamps, 6 bench dogs, positioning slots

Listed weight34 pounds
WarrantyNot stated in listing
ModelWDOT-2026WB
SellerWDOT
Best Sellers Rank#6,735 overall; #6 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

Strong demand backs this folding bench: it ranks #6 in Workbenches and #6,735 overall, second only to the CAMMOO on this page.

WDOT includes “2 Clamps & 6 Bench Dogs,” a “Laser-engraved scale and multi-directional positioning slots,” and “Pre-drilled standard mounting holes” for “table saws, drills, routers and more.” The listing says it has “only 5.9-inch thickness when stored” and a “500LBS reinforced load-bearing worktop.” The specs give 34 pounds, and the seller is WDOT’s own store.

The “100,000 open/close cycles” test is WDOT’s claim, with no details. There are no outlets, no pegboard and no drawers, and the warranty field is blank. It is about three times the listed weight of the POWERTEC.

Woodworkers who need clamping power in a bench that folds into a trunk should pick it. For a permanent garage station with storage, choose a 48-inch bench.

Pros

  • Folds to 5.9 inches thick, per listing
  • Includes 2 clamps and 6 bench dogs
  • Pre-drilled holes for mounting tools
  • Second-best rank here: #6 in Workbenches
  • Brand claims a 500-lb worktop

Cons

  • 34 lb listed
  • No outlets
  • Sold by WDOT, not Amazon.com
  • Warranty field is empty: not stated

Best for: A woodworker or renter who needs a bench that clamps work, sets up fast and packs away in a closet or trunk.

7. POWERTEC MT4006V Portable Workbench With Vise: Best Budget Compact

POWERTEC MT4006V Portable Workbench With Vise

POWERTEC’s MT4006V is a small folding work stand with a bamboo top that doubles as a vise. The two top panels adjust to grip a board or a part between them, and the kit includes 4 bench dogs that fit into the top to hold work in place while you cut, sand or drill.

POWERTEC pitches it for clamping, cutting and painting, and says it can be used as a vise tool or sawhorse. The top is printed with metric and imperial measurements plus a protractor scale for quick layout, and a built-in storage rack below holds tools. The steel frame folds, and the listing gives the weight as 11 pounds, so it carries easily from the garage to the yard.

The capacity is listed at 220 pounds, and the specs give the size as 13 x 23.8 x 32 inches. That makes it a stand for small and medium pieces, such as trimming a shelf board, gluing up a box or holding a door on edge for planing, rather than a full assembly table.

It suits first-time woodworkers, renters and anyone who wants a vise and clamping surface without committing floor space. It also makes a handy second station next to a larger bench.

Why we like it

  • Built-in vise panels
  • Only 11 pounds
  • Measuring scales printed on the top

Watch out for

The small top limits it to modest pieces, and no warranty term is listed.

Key Specifications

TypeSmall folding bench and vise

ModelMT4006V; made by Powertec
SellerAmazon.com
Best Sellers Rank#37,077 overall; #36 in Workbenches (Oct 2026)

Why We Recommend It

At a listed 11 pounds, the POWERTEC is the lightest bench here, and it is the only pick in the lowest price tier. Amazon.com is the seller.

The kit includes a “Portable Bench Tool Stand with Bamboo Table Top, and (4) Bench Dogs,” with “fully adjustable vise panels,” “a built in storage rack,” and “imprinted metric & imperial measurements and protractor scale.” POWERTEC says it handles “clamping, cutting, painting” and can be used “as a vise tool or sawhorse.” It is “Able to hold up to 220 lbs.”

Its 220-pound rating ties the WEN for lowest, and the listed 13 x 23.8-inch footprint is the smallest here. The warranty field is empty, and it ranks #36 in Workbenches.

Beginners, renters and anyone wanting a vise for small jobs will find it a low-cost start. If you build furniture or cabinets, the WDOT or a 48-inch bench gives far more room.

Pros

  • Lowest price tier here
  • Lightest pick: 11 lb listed
  • Only pick with an adjustable vise top
  • Bamboo top with ruler and protractor scale
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • 220-lb capacity, tied for lowest here
  • Small 13 x 23.8-inch footprint listed
  • Warranty field is empty: not stated
  • #36 in Workbenches

Best for: A beginner or apartment DIYer who needs a small clamping stand that folds and weighs very little.

Workbench Buying Guide

Best Workbench for Garage Walls

A 48-inch bench against a wall is the classic garage setup, and three of our picks follow it. The CAMMOO and Northsky put a pegboard and power strip on the bench itself, and the WEN adds a 62-inch-tall hutch with drawers and shelves. Measure the wall and the depth you can spare: these tops run 23.6 to 25 inches deep. If you already have a pegboard on the wall, our pegboard guide covers panels and hooks, and our tool box guide covers what goes under the bench.

Best Folding Workbench

Folding benches give floor space back. The Ultrawall mounts to the wall and folds to less than 4 inches, per its listing. The WDOT and POWERTEC fold on their own legs and store in a closet or trunk, at a listed 34 and 11 pounds. If you mostly need a temporary cutting surface, a pair of sawhorses with a sheet of plywood also works; see our sawhorse guide.

Adjustable legs let one bench serve seated and standing work. The CAMMOO uses 10 knob-set levels, the Northsky lists 27.9 to 43.4 inches, and the FLEXISPOT moves from 28.1 to 45.7 inches with an electric lift and four memory presets. The WEN’s height is fixed.

Best Workbench With Pegboard

A pegboard keeps the tools you reach for most in sight. The WEN, CAMMOO and Northsky include one; Northsky puts steel pegboards on both sides. The FLEXISPOT, Ultrawall, WDOT and POWERTEC have none, so plan wall storage separately.

Best Portable Workbench

Portable benches trade size for workholding. The WDOT includes 2 clamps and 6 bench dogs; the POWERTEC has vise panels and 4 bench dogs. For gluing up larger pieces, add a few clamps from our clamp guide.

Load Ratings: Read Them as Claims

Listed ratings here range from 220 pounds (WEN and POWERTEC) to 2,200 pounds (Northsky). None of the listings say how the numbers were tested, or whether the load is spread evenly or set in one spot. Treat them as the brand’s claims, and load benches and shelves evenly.

Built-In Outlets and Garage Safety

Three of our benches have built-in outlets. The CAMMOO and Northsky listings say their power strips are ETL-certified; the WEN listing names three 13-amp outlets but no certification. None of the listings mention UL.

  • Don’t overload the strip. The U.S. Fire Administration says not to overload power strips, to use strips with internal overload protection, and to replace worn or damaged extension cords right away.
  • Plug the bench into the wall, not another strip. Chaining a bench’s strip into another strip or a long extension cord adds load where you can’t see it.
  • Keep chargers in check. USFA’s garage fire safety page says to plug only one charging appliance into an outlet and not to use an extension cord when charging.
  • Store fuels away from the bench. The same USFA page says to store oil, gasoline, paints, propane and varnishes in a shed away from your home.

The WEN WB4723T adds drawers and a tall hutch, the Northsky rolls on included casters, and the FLEXISPOT is the pick for push-button height. Short on space? The Ultrawall folds flat to the wall, the WDOT folds into a trunk, and the POWERTEC stand is the budget start.
